did somebody say "tiny board games"?

hello retrospectres!
I just learned something fantastic:
Total Recall is still doing their monthly *Free Board Game Day!*
for those not in the know, this is an event where they set out a bunch of board games in the play area and you can try them out!
my friends and I go pretty much every month, it is a lot of fun.
to be honest I'm not sure how it's going to work this time, with us all being miniatures ourselves, but I figure at worst it will make certain things inconvenient
and at best it could add a whole new dimension to the gameplay!
so if that piques your fancy they are located at [insert address here] and it goes from 12-9 today. see you there maybe!
(ps. they have soda for 50 cents and there's a pizza place next door, so you don't have to worry about dinner)
((Edit: Oh look there's a log!))

I am almost tempted to suggest that you see if you can get enough people together to play a session of living chess. We would fit on a chess board right now, as is, would we not?

I can think of a few pawn spots that are sacrificed a lot early on, so they would be good for people who want to be there only a little while.

At the very least, it would be quite the advertisement. Those sorts of games are a big to do in Europe when they do them.

It's the sort of thing royalty likes in Britain, and that they like to do at Versailles or similar places for special occasions. Plays to their old medieval roots I think.

Pffft, if ever there was suh a thing I don't think I'd know where it was. You, my dear, are a very silly girl sometimes, are you not?

It did, and I could use a good laugh these days. It has been a hard week for us both, has it not? So, then, you work at this game store do you? Perhaps I will stop by after I finish at the florist's for the day.

You are not old enough? I am confused, how old are you exactly? I know you are young, but it is so strange here to me at times.

[Chloe had lived on a vineyard most of her life, so work from a young age was something she was accustomed to doing, not to mention the fact that France was very different than the states on ages that people were allowed to do quite a few things. It was possible to get work, to some extent, as early as 14 in France, after all.]

And yes, you will almost certainly see me soon enough.

Ah, I had thought you were a year or two older. Yes, just a touch too young to work, aren't you? Well, in any case, I'm looking forward to having a game, something to take the mind off of being small.

...if we ignore that we're playing as the game pieces.

You know, I have never really done any roleplaying. I understand the idea. There were people who did this thing with foam bats when I was in lycee here, but I have never tried it. Perhaps I will get the chance.

Sorry, I do that a lot. It is the French word for your High School. I did my last years of it here in the United States as an exchange program before applying for citizenship.

I suppose my fantasies have always been a bit more the 'grounded' sort. Hunting for things in the here and now, but I can see the appeal. Living out a romance like in the Harlequins or some spy thriller sounds wonderful, as long as you go back to your regular self afterwards.

Of course, lately, that's been coming back to haunt me a little, heh.
