The baking party has started and the first batch of Minako's Valentine's Day Festa truffles is done! And will be eaten while I frost the cupcakes, hehehe. Come by the RU kitchens any time you like, I'll literally be here all night with my friends Chocolate, Sprinkles, and Coffee. Let me know if you need directions!

[Chloe had promised to make an appearance, and there was time to do so before she went out to meet Peridot for their date. She was still almost dreading that little venture, but it would be fun she told herself. She made a note to bring at least a couple truffles for Peridot too, figuring it was a good way to appease the mad scientist.

Regardless, she was there before she was scheduled to meet, dressed nicely in a simple dress and an overcoat to cover from the cold of February. She smiled at anyone who happened by and watched curiously to see if maybe there were people she could meet who she might be going to school with next year.]

Well hello there, Alice. It's nice to see you. Minako invited me to come, so I decided to make an appearance. I... have a date, it would seem. [She laughed a little at that.] As friends, but it should be interesting.

She is a very ... energetic person. [Pause. Oh!] Do you have plans today?

Oh. I wound up signed up for a date too. He seems...levelheaded. It'll be nice to have someone to get dinner with, at least.

I said I'd be here, though, and I was really looking forward to it, so I guess we're in the same boat.

Yes, it would seem that we are. [She glanced around, seeing no boat, and assumed it was another expression. This one, at least, was clear enough in context.] Perhaps the two of you will enjoy yourself. I hope so. I think one of my friends probably signed me up, as repayment for trying to set them up so often.

[She grinned innocently.] The price of playing cupid's part, but I like for people to be happy and find love.

Oh? [She cocked her head and smiled at that. She'd always wanted a little sister, but her adopted mother hadn't married.] I didn't know you had a sister. What is she like? Other than demanding of her private time, it seems.

Morgan's a good kid. Outspoken, has some questionable decision-making processes, but she's really committed to being who she wants to be.

[Blink blink. No, that was a bit too likely of a coincidence.] Morgan, you say? Fiesty and temperamental girl by chance? Did she happen to have a large, stuffed lion for you at the festival?

I... might have already met your sister if that's the case. [She smiled, making a mental note not to mention that she might have been trying to set her up on a date too.]</small.

That's her, alright. I don't...recall her giving me any stuffed animals lately, though.

[Morgan had better not be bogarting a stuffed lion, not that she's going to say anything on the subject out loud.]

Ah, she had said it was for her sister, but it was also a while ago, so perhaps I misremember. She is an interesting one, certainly. Very energetic. Will she be coming here next year, do you think? Perhaps we might end up in class together at some point.

I'm doing my best. Getting her to focus on academics is kind of a challenge.

[Luckily for Chloe, there's a wrapping station off to the side, little boxes and wrapping paper and ribbon strewn across the counter in a cheerful mess, with an equally cheerful baker coming over with a plate of cooling cookies.] Oh, hi Chloe! Glad you could make it. Want a snickerdoodle?

[It was very convenient, and quite helpful. She walked over and took one of the little sugary treats while it was still quite warm. Nothing like a bit of cinammon in one's life.]

Thank you, Minako. Have you been enjoying yourself today? Did Cupid sign you up as well?

Luckily I managed to escape Cupid's arrow. And good thing, too, otherwise I'd have way too many baking ingredients and no time to bake anything.

[She sets down the plate and then bites into one with relish.]

Hmm, too sweet, you think?

[She took one herself and tried it. It was, indeed, quite sweet. But, she was also French, and if the girl had ever tried a French dessert...]

Not for me, but perhaps for some people. It is a little sad, though, that cupid's arrow missed the mark. Perhaps they will strike you another day?

Mmmhrm. [Swallow.] Note to self: less sugar for the snickerdoodles.

[Good thing she takes another bite right after that, it gives her time to think of an answer to that landmine of a question. "I'm not anyone worth dating" is definitely too much of a downer thing to say at a party, much less to a new friend she's getting to know. So!]

Maybe! Right now I'm okay if it doesn't, though. Too busy with other things, you know?

[And for someone as romance obsessed and fantasy obsessed as Chloe could be at times, it was almost surely going to start the whole 'no, no, I refuse to believe that about you' argument. That alone would probably go nowhere for a few hours. This answer, though, she smiled and nodded to, not prying too much.]

Much as I love a good romantic story in college, it must be hard to juggle such things with time and work. I suppose that is why such a thing is much more rare to find work out, though I can't imagine a few don't try.

It will come, though. I'm sure of it. Everyone has that someone.

Mmhm!

[And now to turn it onto Chloe because she really doesn't want to keep thinking of her own situation. She's gotten unnervingly good at that.]

So what about you? How did you meet your partner?

We grew up very near to each other, actually. There are very few homes in the region where I come from, so I suppose you might say that we have always known each other, for as long as I could remember. [She laughed a little at herself as she said it.]

I was, apparently, very much the tomboy playing the angry little boy's role. I used to tease her mercilessly just to see her a little angry. She is very cute when she's upset.

Oh no, you guys were childhood friends. That's so cute.

[For all that Minako's given up on her own love life, she's very enthusiastic about anyone else's.]

So somehow in the end she decided she could handle the teasing?

[Being enthusiastic and overinvolved in other's love lives was something the two girls seemed to share in common. She grinned at the comment and giggled to herself, cheeks heating a little.]

Well, that and I finally told her what I really thought of her. She can be a bit of a cold fish at times. You have to be blunt to get through to her.

[Minako snickers into her hand.]

Sorry, I shouldn't laugh. But it's really cute to imagine. I'm glad it all ended happily for you two!

[Victoria heard there were truffles. Food and mingling are both interesting factors to her, regardless of her skill in either of them.

Either way she strolls by, nearly passing before catching Chloe's smile and gave a quiet smile back, hands stuffed in the pockets of her zipped jacket. That weather, huh?]

Oh. Hello there. This is where the baking party is, isn't it?

That it is. Why don't you join us? I'm sure that there are plenty of chocolates to go around.

[She smiled over at Victoria, motioning for her to come in and join the rest of them. She wasn't helping with the cooking at the moment, since she had somewhere to go later, but she was certainly helping with the eating and socializing.]
