[Faolan is definitely not the sort of person to use the network, not even to respond to it never mind to post to it. But desperate times call for desperate measures, and certainly this is a desperate time indeed.
How do people even usually address posts on this thing? He goes through the last month or so of them before giving up and just flying by the seat of his pants.

Let's say, hypothetically speaking, that there was something quite expensive that you had wanted very much, and that someone purchased that something for you when they really didn't have to. Let's say that you could never hope to come up with the money to pay them back in full, but you would like to do something comparable for them for the holidays.
What would you do in such a situation?

Ehm, yes. This would be a person who is. Very dear.
[He can't quite say the "L" word either, though that's possibly because he has to admit it to himself first, which is far more difficult besides. Doesn't make it any less true keeping it to himself verses speaking it aloud of course, but there it is.]

I guess I would do something they like. It doesn't have to be expensive. ....I don't think. Just something that would make them... happy.
Like... I dunno. The person I like really likes to play music and nice things. I'd probably get him something to do with that. I think.

He bought me a keyboard, I. That's what I meant earlier. I've played for him a couple of times, but I. Don't know how to make a gift out of that, exactly. I mean, is it special if it's something I've already done?

I'd think so. But I mean.... you could probably add something to it?
I'm probably going to sound a bit old-fashioned here, but like.... If he likes you playing for him, maybe you can do something else with it. Set it up like a dinner date. Cook for him, decorate a little, get him a good tea to drink, with maybe a book you picked out for him at the store. And you can play music for him while he eats.

I don't know how he'd feel about me playing while he eats, but. The rest of it, that sounds nice. Special, you know? I'd like to be able to make him feel special, if I could. Even if it's just through a handful of little things that do the job when you put them all together.

I don't know if it helps, but like... for the guy I like, I'm looking at music boxes. I'm not sure what kind I'm going to get him yet, but I think something like that will suit him. So I mean...
It doesn't have to be awkwardly extravagant. And you know the guy you like better than I do, I'm sure. If an idea like that helps any.
Maybe... something closer to that.
Or, I could be wrong. I'm... sort of new to this dating thing. So I'm not sure what's best in what.

You're right, anyway. I don't need to be extravagant, he. His family has money, he doesn't need me to give him that. But I can pay attention. I mean, I do.

I probably met him a year or two back, but I didn't really get to know him until this summer.
