I'm supposed to take the MCAT this Saturday, but of course back when I registered, the city wasn't enclosed in a dome (or a bubble?) and completely isolated from any outside world that might happen to exist. So . . . I hope the exam proctors still show up . . . and that the AAMC server or whatever works? And if not, I really hope this won't count against my maximum allowed attempts. (Can anyone who's already in med school or actually already a doctor please let me know how long it normally takes to die / how long it took you personally to die after the first time you took it?) Also, I just want to verify. There's no historical or, like . . . cultural version of Santa that looks like this, right?

I suppose it's likely that there are a lot more moving parts involved in the whole "unreality" (?) thing than just the ones we're able to notice directly.

That's likely. But as long as those things aren't directly detrimental to our lives, we can ignore them, probably.

Would you feel better if you could understand more of the logic behind why all this is happening, or would it not really make a difference?

In general, it would be best for people to know everything they can. But for me personally, it wouldn't matter. I'm not particularly worried to begin with.

Oh! That's kind of you. Although to be honest I'm not that worried about being an elf unless all the regaining of memories and personas or whatever means I have to turn back into one. I mean, not physically or anything, unless it's something really weird and bad I guess, but having to actually go back to living that life instead of this one.
I mean, I don't know if something like that is likely to happen. But I would strongly prefer it not to.

I don't NOT want to talk about it, at least not anymore.
But I think it's enough knowing that there are people who understand and probably feel a lot of the same ways.

If you believe fourth hand information, it's true. Things like feelings and emotions start becoming your own. Affection towards people who would otherwise be strangers, despite seeing them in a memory for only a short time. There are people in my memories that I've been in the city, and maybe the same is for you. Oppressors aren't excluded. I don't think Retrospec was very choosy about which souls to save.

It's not like you have to talk. But talk when you feel the need to. If not with a friend, or with me, then talk to Kitty. You'll feel better, maybe.

Well, I haven't remembered what it was specifically, but it had to have been against Santa, right? Putting my lack of moral fiber aside, I'd hate to think I was poor enough at recognizing a bad deal that I would have betrayed St. Patrick or somebody just to end up a drudge at the North Pole.
