sounds like an awful lovesong to me

It's not supposed to be romantic
It's about loving someone but not thinking you're good enough for them.
It wasn't even the main love song.
took me forever to listen to that YT since work
are you making fun of me
with that LOL
love songs should be romantic tho!
curse work
You just seem to have a very narrow view of love songs.
[So. Yes.]
Well there's lots of romantic ones!
But sometimes it's refreshing to hear a fresh perspective on it.
I KNOW RIGHT
songs about love aren't always about love!
refreshing
is that you'd call it
you know what
i should find you a better song

I'm always happy to hear new music!

Well it's a pretty melody.
I like the beat.
And they work well as a duet, their voices keep in perfect harmony.
It's a song I'd have on in the background, sure, because it is good for easy listening.
But there's no passion to it.
Love's not supposed to be easy.
They're so focused on staying in harmony with one another, there's barely any emotion.
I have trouble connecting to anything they're singing on an emotional level other than "oh it sounds nice".
They could've written this about their lost phone.

in comparison to the other
amazing

what about this then??
1/2
I'm not comparing the two, and I said I liked stuff about the song.
And I never said Creep is perfect, I know I wouldn't play it at a wedding.
But Creep has its own uses as a song about love, it's a classic for a reason.
Imagine if someone's been rejected by someone they like, or maybe they did something they're not proud of because of their feelings.
People usually feel like crap in those situations, and they might have feelings that aren't pretty.
Creep acknowledges those ugly feelings, and helps the listener acknowledge them too.
And once you're able to acknowledge them, you can address them and work them out
Which is much better than denying they exist and letting them fester.
I mean, think about the movie we watched.
To impress her, he nearly compromised his own values about bullfighting
But he couldn't even go through with it, and ended up causing humiliation for himself and his family in front of the whole town.
Which is a HUGE deal in Mexican culture
And then from his viewpoint, it was all in vain because she left with the other guy
A guy that's been praised as the town hero for years, while he never got that kind of praise.
We know she doesn't like that guy, but he doesn't know that.
No wonder he was feeling pretty crappy about himself, like he was pathetic for even trying.
So he needed a moment to vent those ugly feelings about himself, and Creep was a fine choice for that.
And once he did that, he could work up the strength to sing his feelings to her with the actual love song.
So maybe give Creep a break, please?

Oh! I know this song!
I used to sing it all the time!
Nice choice.

wasn't expecting that much of answer
i mean
i'm basically obligated to consider it now
LOL
the difference in those two responses is amazing!

Sorry about that.

you were so full of hype before!
no subject
You don't think it's weird?
no subject
what's weird about it?
no subject
People sometimes think I'm weird for how much I get into music.
no subject
i think everyone should get to enjoy the things they're into
even if it means talking about them at length

Thanks Yukine.
You're sweet.

i'm just stating the facts
don't let anyone make you feel bad
( clearly this hits him close to home. )
