You know, I think some April Fool's pranks are okay! Like the silly ones they do on websites or the really good natured kind. But I am LESS okay with someone changing the ENTIRE layout of our entire building and giving us treasure maps to go around it which for the record my brother-in-law did and it's a pain!! There's some weird effects coming in from outside this planet at the moment, although they'll mostly miss the city itself. There'll be a localized temporal storm, but it shouldn't be more than a mild irritation. It looks like it's just going to yank some things around and send them on through. I think Maurice is going to call out sick that day, or if I were him I definitely would. Hey, I kind of want a four-leaf clover. I know that's more last month than this month, but still. If you find one, pass it along. Also, I want to do a cutesy April Fools thing, so don't get too mad! I figured as much. There was someone else here who had asked about a language they'd never seen before, but I didn't think it would go and apply to real-world languages too.

How were you able to tell it wasn't earth-based, though?

I've remembered a good amount of things about that world that are ultimately useless to me here. Geography, facts about the cities, small things about our technology. It was all completely different.

... I see. I know they had mentioned something about different worlds, in one of those other posts, but... I had just assumed it was maybe parallel dimensions of some sort. Not actual different places.

Had you ever gotten anything back from this world?

In terms of memories and the like? No.

That's a bit disappointing. It would be interesting to compare stuff from these different worlds to our own to see how they worked and how they didn't.

I mean, I do have the memories, but nothing in them has really carried over. I have a sword, I suppose, but none of the actual technology.

I'm really not sure how any of it worked even then, however - I don't know whether they can be taken apart and studied, or if it was literally just magic.
