2 Spooky

Hello everyone! I have a strange topic I’d like to discuss.

First of all, what kind of things scare you the most? And do you believe in the supernatural?

I’m looking for scary stories or pictures, or maybe even gifs with proper warnings on them. I know I’m going to end up scaring myself, but I’ve always been oddly fascinated with ghosts and such. Paranormal things, I guess you could say.

I’d love to hear your opinions or see any content you have to share!

The sorts of things that scare me the most don't have anything to do with the supernatural... for someone who was a ghost in their previous life to be scared of ghosts, that would make my existence even more complicated than it already is.

Even before those memories came back to me, however, and probably not by coincidence... ghost stories have always fascinated me.

For instance, have you heard the story of the ghost of Pharaohs Akhenaten and Khufu of Egypt?

I was... but I won't get into that story just yet. I think I'll start with the story of Pharaoh Akhenaten.

It all began when Pharaoh Akhenaten did away with the traditional Egyptian gods, replacing them instead with a single god named Aten, who represented the sun. Exactly why he did this, no one alive today knows; perhaps he had thought the priests had grown too powerful, or perhaps he wanted to make a name for himself, having risen to power entirely by accident. However, regardless of his reasons for ousting the old gods, it's said that they were angered by their exile from Egypt, and cursed him to wander the Farafra Desert for all eternity as punishment. At least, that's what the nomads of that region would have you believe...

My next story is that of Pharaoh Khufu. This one takes place in the much more famous region of Giza, where the Great Pyramid resides. According to legend, it is from this pyramid that Khufu emerges at midnight to wander the area's streets, telling its inhabitants to leave immediately. However, if the legend is true, then he's probably either pretty harmless or very patient, as people have been living in that part of Egypt for thousands of years since his passing...

Oh, but wait! There's still one more story... this time in the Valley of the Kings, and with what seems to be a much more sinister spirit. It's the last one, but probably the spookiest... it would have been a shame to leave out the tale of an Egyptian pharaoh who rides a fiery chariot drawn by black horses, don't you think?

[ and that's a wrap!

he has a lot of feelings about ghosts, okay.

They're impossible to escape when you're Egyptian. It's as though people expect me to know them because of what's written on the tin... but why disappoint them? They're good stories no matter whether they're fact or fiction.

However, given what I've seen in my memories... fact is looking more and more like a probability.

Are they really any stranger than the things we've dealt with as Retrospec users since getting the app, though?

Or was your last life truly that extraordinary?

Really? A demon is more bizarre than anything that happened in February? Or this whole memory scheme?

Just what kind of demon was this?

...that would certainly do it, yes. Of all the things that have happened to me since getting this app, at least losing a limb isn't one of them... yet.

Did you dabble in the occult in your previous life?
hauhra: (and that's everything) (rifraff street rat i don't buy that)

Then it sounds like, for whatever reason, this entity had decided it would attached itself to you... or rather, your other self.

You've only seen it in your memories, right? Not in this life?

Let's just hope that it stays a memory. With everything else that's happened in this city, it's entirely possible that demons exist here, too, and not just those of us who lived as one in our past lives, either.

And yeah, that's definitely a problem around here. Last year, they wrecked the convention center.
