hey so quick question how do I explain why I bleed ink to my boyfriend -yes he's already seen it -I was cutting up vegetables and scratched a finger -it'd be great if someone could give advice relatively soon because I don't know how long 'I need to lie down and then I'll talk to you about it' will work, he's still panicking he's just not demanding an answer right this second thanks for the help

Low oxygen levels in blood make it appear darker. Consequently, if you're not experiencing a poison that is affecting the oxygen levels of your blood, you could write it off as cutting a vein that is bringing the de-oxygenized red blood cells back to the heart. This is a stretch, though.

Assuming that your "ink blood" is black.

It's black or maybe very very dark blue. Wouldn't cutting a vein bleed a lot? Not artery levels of gushing blood, but I just nicked my finger a little bit.

Then I'd go with hypoxemia. Someone else has already suggested it.

Though I'm curious, how long have you been like this?

Since December. I've gotten used to it.

Whatever blood is usually for, I guess? I can't even say 'for keeping me alive' because I'm pretty sure I only got the ink blood after dying and being summoned as a spirit. I can drink ink and heal myself, which is useful even if it tastes disgusting.

Apparently I was a famous author who was called as a spirit after my death to protect literature by fighting monsters inside books. I would call bullshit on this but I have gone inside books in Recolle (it's not as fun as you'd think). And I've remembered the dying part, that's not in question.

Well, that's certainly a thing. Akira knows that "anything is possible" where Retrospec is concerned, but that's admittedly nothing he would have come up with on his own. ]

I'd say that being able to heal yourself with actual ink would come in handy, but having to die as a prerequisite is unfortunate.

Dying sucks. 0/10, would not recommend even for extra powers.

I do have another question on a similar subject, if you don't mind me asking. When you regained this ink blood characteristic, did you have to acquire it the same way your other self did?

I haven't died yet in Recolle, if that's what you're asking. I got my ink blood the same way most people get powers or body parts - you just wake up and poof, you have cat ears, super strength, etc.

I see. How did you feel when you woke up? Or rather how were you able to notice the change?

I was in Recolle Ninja Warrior competition, for some stupid reason. Injuries abound.

As fortunate as you can get with these weird body changes. I feel bad for him getting it first.

You benefited either way, but I understand the sentiment.

If the people around us are going to finally take notice of all the strangeness of Retrospec, they'll also have to be prepared to accept everything that comes with it. There are some decent medical explanations that could pass for a while, but you might be better off telling the truth. It probably won't be the weirdest thing your boyfriend comes into contact with.

I know that. I'm just scared. I'm scared of a lot of things lately.
