Don't bother the techs. Seriously, don't. I'm not entirely sure what's going on but all I'm getting is that it's the equivalent of being hacked and someone who knows layer theory better than we do is out there screwing things up and tampering with the project. I don't have a really good update for you guys, but bear with us. Please? Zee Carlisle Hiring Manager Retr ![]()
Per the mod plotting post, you may use this post to obtain one of this month's freebies! This month's freebie can be earned by turning in a thread on this post that has 10 or more consecutive comments from you.
Please feel free to use this post as a network mingle. Every toplevel can be considered a new post, and threadjacking is permitted. No NPC response will be given. Usernames are the character's full real AU names, not aliases or chosen nicknames or usernames, and seemed to have filled themselves in; nothing characters do can change or obscure their names currently. |

There's next year. And lots of other parties to be had during the rest of this year, too.
[Though right now she's more worried that Lucy completely forgot in the first place.]
no subject
...I know. Just...
[It seemed like such...random, bullshit chance. One day she had stepped out to get some time to herself, the next it was weeks later and everything was doing its best to fall apart.]
no subject
[She stands there and rubs over her back in an effort to soothe her. And after a few minutes, keeping her voice light:]
Do you want to talk about it another day? We still have so much corn chowder prep to go.
no subject
[Minako's presence kept her from slipping any further, though her voice was still gloomy and quieter. Lucy leaned her shoulders back a little under the other girl's hands despite herself. That was nice.]
So I guess now, or...nothing.
no subject
Lucy...why don't you tell me what you do remember? And then I'll tell you what happened in April.
no subject
Lucy just let out a long sigh, rubbing at her temple. Some things she could remember; some things weren't just broken and fragmented, of no use whatsoever.]]
After Freya told us what...was going to happen to her, I needed...I needed to be by myself, for awhile. The forest here was too close. So I took one of the buses to Bosuma. And it helped, for awhile. I think.
[She runs her hand through her hair, the motion slightly agitated.]
I got lost. I only saw one other person, some woman who had a little house there. I was supposed to do something then, but I can't...remember what it was. It was important.
no subject
You must have found your way back eventually, though. When I saw you again at the party, you...she looked so childish and innocent. I thought she might've been another sister of yours, but I couldn't believe that at the same time, either. She called herself Nyu.
no subject
It didn't work. And it didn't make that feeling of incredulous denial any better.]
...I don't remember that. I don't have any other sisters.
[That she knows of. Don't give her dad any more ideas.
Her fingers curled more tightly to her temple, holding the hair there in the beginnings of a messy tangle.]
Did I say something stupid?
no subject
No. [A pause.] You're using "I".
[She's not sure what kind of inference she should pull from that.]
no subject
It was still me, wasn't it?
[It was an...was it an accident? Just a thoughtless word.]
no subject
[A pause, and then an attempt at levity:]
Though I did call you two Lunyu in my head for a bit when I was talking with her, when I was confused about what was going on.
no subject
You...did?
[Lucy wasn't so glum when she was busy being surprised, at least. What an...odd thing.
But it seemed like something Minako would do, too. Something much more understandable than...whatever had happened to Lucy.]
no subject
[She squeezes Lucy's hand.]
Silly, huh? But I don't think it suits either of you.
no subject
[A little of an understatement. Lucy thought it was a bit undignified, and Nyu was...well, she didn't have an opinion right now.
Belatedly, Lucy squeezes her hand back. That was something she could do, even if she couldn't make sense of much else.]
I don't have anything else to tell you.
[Besides other things and unrelated events babbled in Minako's direction while Lucy was busy not letting go of her roommate.]
no subject
[She's silent as she mulls this over, eventually letting out a soft hum.]
We'll get to the bottom of this eventually. Maybe we can go back to where you stopped remembering as Lucy, and see what we can find.
no subject
Are you sure? What if it happens to you?
[She wanted to know what happened, but not at the price of losing Minako again.]
no subject
[A small smile.]
And even if I forgot again, I wouldn't stop being your friend, you know.
no subject
Just...
[Realizing how tightly she was holding onto Minako, Lucy eased her grip. But her fingers were still possessively curled over the other girl's hand. Her expression wasn't distant, frustrated, or sad, but a worried frown.]

Lucy sighed, shoulders losing some of their tension. She didn't know if she could just...let go of things like that. Stop worrying about things like that.
She could apologize, though. She should.]
...sorry, for dumping all this on you. Again.
[Thinking about these conversations after they happened always made Lucy feel guilty. Minako always seemed like she had so much to worry about, and here Lucy was adding to it. Again.]
no subject
Don't be. I'm glad you told me.
no subject
Lucy tried to dredge up some of that infectious positivity that came so easily to Minako. It was difficult, and her voice wavered more than she liked.]
You wanted to make that soup, right?
no subject
Yeah. Still got a lot of prep work to do before we can eat. Let's get back to it.
