Don't bother the techs.

Seriously, don't. I'm not entirely sure what's going on but all I'm getting is that it's the equivalent of being hacked and someone who knows layer theory better than we do is out there screwing things up and tampering with the project.

I don't have a really good update for you guys, but bear with us. Please?

I really appreciate it. But I don't know if I can trust them. It's difficult to, even if I want to.

I don't... want to hurt anybody.

You don't have to. If we get this treated now, when we know what it is and before it gets any worse, we can possibly stop it.

I'm positive there's doctors on Retrospec too. Minako had told me about them when I first got the app, and I'm sure if anyone will understand weird things you got back out of the blue, it would be them.

... please, Mio. I'm worried about you.

How do we know that there even is a cure? It's a foreign disease from who knows where, after all!

[Leave it to Mio to say the fear that had been lurking at the back of his mind, the one he hadn't wanted to mention lest he upset her further. No, it's possible there might not be a cure for the disease, especially given it's nature. But...]

... we don't. But there could be things out there that could suppress the symptoms, possibly, until something is figured out.

[Even he knows it's a reach, but he doesn't know what else to say]

We won't know unless we try.

[She's quiet for a long time and doesn't actually answer immediately. It's almost enough to sound alarming, but that's only because of what she's thinking. The person who told her about the illness in the first place. And the person who had attempted to force her to take a syringe. They were the same person, so could it be--

But then why did she die like that?]

That may be true.

But I'm scared that all the searching will mean nothing in the end.

[She's quiet for so long that Xiaolang assumes she moved on from the conversation, and sets the phone aside to try to focus on his schoolwork. So when the text notif chimes not too long after, he can't help but be a little relieved. At least she's listening to some of what he has to say.]

Doing nothing is going to result in the same thing, too. If we try looking for a solution, and nothing turns up, we at least know we did what we could about it.

If there's no cure, that's going to be a problem.

[A huge problem, in fact.]
