Kiyotaka Ishida | Moral Compass ([personal profile] steadycourse) wrote in [community profile] retrospec2018-08-11 12:17 am

text;

I'm assuming that others also received a word, mine is 'beta!' I'm still uncertain what that really means, but maybe we should do a tally and go from there!

Anyway, I do have two other questions that I wish to ask! So, I'm going to ask!

Question 1: Has anyone heard of the name 'Kiyotaka Ishida?' I assure you that is not my name, I'm Kiyotaka Ishimaru, but I've been getting strange messages about him! From what I've gathered, he's a college student with blonde white hair.

Question 2: How would you define a 'moral compass?' Is it really possible to be the um, best in that? An ultimate moral compass??

Hmmm, how to find that balance though? Might morality be balancing those two?

I of course want to help people when I can, but when does it become too much? Or how do we know when our help does more harm then good despite our intentions??

Yeah, it is. I just don't think we could understand how hard it is unless we were in their shoes. For better or worse, they are alive because they stole, or broke the law just to survive...not for some fancy stuff...

ya kinda get what I'm saying?

EVERYONE means well, dumbass
no one thinks of themselves as a bad person
that doesn't mean they aren't one

That would be assuming that people always know what they need and to what degree they need it, I guess people telling us would be alright, but I don't want to hurt them in the 1st place.

I'm sorry that I'm not exactly helping with your question, I wish there was an easy answer I could just give ya.

or a answer for that matter

I hope you don’t learn about it, then.
Keep doing what you think is right. I’m only an outsider with an opinion.

killing someone doesn't automatically make you bad
and there's plenty of other things that could

If you don't mind me asking, why such an interest in not just being moral but THE MOST moral?

For me, I figure if you are doing alright then that's good enough. If your an angel that's even better and something to inspire others to be good.

And hope I am being helpful, I'd hate to think I'm just wasting your time.

Probably not, but. Sometimes it’s better to be prepared for the worst. You don’t get any surprises.

And even then, it still catches you off guard. Imagine if you’re not prepared— you’re fucked.

Ah, hmmm, I think just be context. I think that might mean that you were incorruptible and your word was your bond sort of deal.

I don't know how I feel about our other selves, but I think it's neat that you found something from your other self that you liked and are trying to emulate it.

Though, I don't think its a bad thing if we were to deviate from those...after all I'm pretty sure all of us have gone through things our other-selves wouldn't have.

okay whatever fine
let's pretend killing isn't acceptable ever
it still doesn't mean it's the ONLY thing that could make you a bad person
depending on how you look at it and the circumstances, literally anything could make you a bad person
but hey if you want to be that "moral compass" and be the final arbiter of what's right and what's wrong be my guest
but plenty of people are going to disagree with you
and they're all going to have valid points

Have you ever been around death? Violence, dark spirits, hard choices, etc. Past memories included.

and why do you get to be the one who makes the final decision on if it's "good" or "bad"
and no, having some made up title isn't an answer

Maybe your answer might more grounded in that. Like, being honorable, making sure that everyone gets the best from you.

If you always do that, can anyone ever say your immoral?

That's his life though, if you remember it, then I guess the only thing you can do is learn from it. But I don't think you should judge yourself based on that one.

I don't know to much about mine, although I assume he is one tough(possibly crazy)customer. My 1st memory was being smacked by an elephant, set on fire and slamming into a wall, getting up, fully intending to fight it.
