Where it concerns us is the memories. We are remembering our past lives, who we used to be, where we used to live, what skills and abilities we used to have. And somehow from that Retrospec will be able to bring that world back. Or so they claim.

So you are going to start remembering things. You'll receive items from your past life. You could even gain strange abilities (though 'strange' is very relative).
