Do you know where it comes from? She wanted me to forget about her asking for self defense help. Like literally forget about her.

It just seems to be intrinsic. When she and I were reconnecting when she first got here, she told me she didn't trust anyone, me included... that she can't.

And she thinks she's a terrible person because of it, and that she doesn't deserve anyone's kindness. I haven't really been successful in breaking through that yet.
