Irreversible brain damage happens after 10 minutes without blood flow, that’s why they start CPR as soon as there’s been cardiac arrest. There’s a better chance of preserving brain functions even when you’re clinically dead, and a team can keep at it for more than and hour and still bring someone back.
I think the longest CPR reported was 6 hours and 30 minutes, and the victim survived. It’s definitely possible.
