It's part of why he wanted to try this--it's a way to take these memories by the reins and control them himself, rather than being at their mercy. If he can control them a little bit, if he can decide to actively pursue them... it makes it a choice, rather than something that's just happening to all of them.]

That's what I think too. If we're going to get wrapped up in all of this anyways, I'm not going to let it drag me along after it. I'd rather go after it myself.
