[2] joint post!

Hi, everyone. Shirogane-san and I had an idea we wanted to approach the rest of you with. We were discussing the impact Retrospec seems to have on its users, and what we might be able to find out about that connection.

Thank you, Narukami.

Through all of the memory issues facing us, there seems to be one constant: the presence or absence of the Retrospec app. Those with the app on their phones have a certain memory, those without it have another. Logically, only one group can be right. Either horses and faceless fruit once existed, or they never have. One group has had its memories tampered with. Either Retrospec is the cause of this tampering, or it is inoculating us to it.

With that in mind, we’d like to ask for volunteers to cease all usage of Retrospec for one week. We know it’s a lot to ask, but no other normal activities should be restricted.

Indeed. And as a further control group, we’d like some other volunteers to refrain from using their phone at all during this time period-- this way, we can isolate if it is Retrospec, something else on our technology, or this hypothesis is completely false.

We don’t have any compensation that we can offer you for this experiment other than the possibility of answers. We hope this is compelling enough on its own, though if you insist on some kind of payment, we’ll try to think of something.

Knowledge is, ideally, its own reward. But yes. Something.

Let us know if you have any questions, and, of course, if you’d like to volunteer. Thanks for your time.

( ooc: you can check out ooc information about this post right on over here! in short, nothing will actually happen as a result of staying off the network. anyway, both yu and naoto will be responding to replies here! )

Hitori Togusa Your uncle was actually the one bringing this up, so he might be able to explain more accurately than I can.
Hitori Togusa Ah, your uncle Ardyn, that is, I haven't spoken to Fynn much about this.
Hitori Togusa But he was saying that something got triggered, just out of normal conversation. In that way, these different memories act just like regular memories in their recall.
Hitori Togusa But, let's use the example that someone was posting about on the network: if you don't happen to be talking about Japanese history or warfare, how do you remember a scene from a feudal-era battlefield?

Hitori Togusa Someone else suggested that it might be simpler, though, and that a memory came back to them as a dream, so in order to join in the fun, I just need to get on a human sleep schedule.
Hitori Togusa Still working on that.

Hitori Togusa Don't push yourelf if you don't have to.
Hitori Togusa These have been fairly disturbing to a lot of people. Just because Retrospec is trying to show us something doesn't mean we have to listen.

Hitori Togusa Keep talking to Ardyn. It's clear you mean the world to him. And everybody seems to be doing okay so long as we remember we're not in this alone.

Hitori Togusa But Retrospec can. Make the memories happen, that is.
Hitori Togusa No idea what their game is, but I also wonder why they've bothered to skip over me.
Hitori Togusa Professor.
Hitori Togusa Ardyn, that is. I don't think he lets himself rely on too many people. I want to be there for him, as well, but. Ex-student kind of gets in the way of that.
Hitori Togusa He's really worried and trying not to let on. That much I can pick up.
