[Video] Now About Those Meddling Kids
[A video feed opens up to show a pair of teenagers, one Yukiko and Souji, standing inside an empty classroom. It’s steady, without the hallmark shaky cam that so many of these broadcasts have, and both of them are dressed up just a little more than usual. Smiling his trademark half-amused expression, Souji steps up, speaking in his best infomercial voice.]
Has this ever happened to you?
You're out and you're enjoying your day when suddenly, gasp, you discover you've accidentally dropped your Hello Kitty coin purse without noticing and don’t know where it is?
Or that one day you’ve learned that Mr. Fluffkins eloped with that handsome cat down the street and left without even leaving a goodbye note?
Or even something as simple as hearing a ghost wailing in your bathroom but being too scared to check on it?
How could you, a normal person, be expected to be solve these grand mysteries? There has got to be a better way.
[Then Yukiko steps forward, looking just a little bit more awkward, like she’s probably (definitely) been roped into these shenanigans for god only knows what reason.]
That’s right. We’re here to help you out.
[Stepping back, she sighs, shaking her head and letting her partner continue his pitch.]
The Mystery Club, founded and formed in 2017, was created to tackle every sort of thriller, secret, disappearance, you name it! Anything that needs solving, the Mystery Club is there for you.
Need to solve the case of the missing ? Mystery Club. Track down the whereabouts of that bird that stole your lunch? Mystery Club. Just want to throw a random riddle at us? Mystery Club.
We’re your modern day Sherlock Holmes.
[He finishes with a nod, as if proud of his infomercial talk. Yukiko laughs nervously, but nods at him, stepping up to the plate again]
We look forward to...uh. Helping you with your problems.
So...um. [She rubs the back of her head, unable to believe she’s actually saying this…]
Give us a call. We’re...ready to believe you.
[And then mumbled under her breath:]
I can’t believe this…
I think we did pretty good.
((OOC: Replies will come from Yukiko and Souji, 1 or both. Specify if you only want on!. A general info post can be found here. Any further questions? Feel free to ask via PM or Plurk))

We were counting on you from the beginning, you know.

Though could you start by asking your brother not to make things so absurd?

no subject
But no, seriously. I think this will be good for us. All of us.
no subject
I agree. We might as well formalize our attempts to figure things out.
no subject
And you know, I think that's exactly the sort of thing this will be good for. And we can possibly make a little extra money to fun investigations.
no subject
Hm. Do you think people will really pay us to track down the bird that stole their lunch?
[ really he's just ripping on souji as one do but he can't help it ]
no subject
People pay for all sorts of services, and ours is actually useful.
no subject
She can be quite harsh when she wants to be, can't she? ]
It's not that I disagree. I'm not sure we'd get paid for recovering a sandwich, but I'm sure we'll be of use to others.
no subject
Well, yes. But recovering a sandwich is small, and finding lost pets is something entirely different. So is recovering keys, and other things.

[ laughing to himself. seriously, nice turn of phrase, souji. ]

Leave your last few cups of precious pudding on my desk and then we can really see how devoted you are.
