[Video] Now About Those Meddling Kids

[A video feed opens up to show a pair of teenagers, one Yukiko and Souji, standing inside an empty classroom. It’s steady, without the hallmark shaky cam that so many of these broadcasts have, and both of them are dressed up just a little more than usual. Smiling his trademark half-amused expression, Souji steps up, speaking in his best infomercial voice.]

Has this ever happened to you?

You're out and you're enjoying your day when suddenly, gasp, you discover you've accidentally dropped your Hello Kitty coin purse without noticing and don’t know where it is?

Or that one day you’ve learned that Mr. Fluffkins eloped with that handsome cat down the street and left without even leaving a goodbye note?

Or even something as simple as hearing a ghost wailing in your bathroom but being too scared to check on it?

How could you, a normal person, be expected to be solve these grand mysteries? There has got to be a better way.

[Then Yukiko steps forward, looking just a little bit more awkward, like she’s probably (definitely) been roped into these shenanigans for god only knows what reason.]

That’s right. We’re here to help you out.

[Stepping back, she sighs, shaking her head and letting her partner continue his pitch.]

[He finishes with a nod, as if proud of his infomercial talk. Yukiko laughs nervously, but nods at him, stepping up to the plate again]

We look forward to...uh. Helping you with your problems.

So...um. [She rubs the back of her head, unable to believe she’s actually saying this…]

Give us a call. We’re...ready to believe you.

[And then mumbled under her breath:]

I can’t believe this…

I think we did pretty good.

a team of investigators is a big step for a couple of high schoolers

We got asked to help someone find a lost dog.

And it was fun? Also, it's something to do during the summer, and a good way to keep up our friendship during college.

Absolutely we're interested.

It's not like I had plans. I'm...still not sure how everything's going to go but I know I'll mostly be free.

if my first source doesn't work I'm gonna need you guys to track some stuff for me and unraveling a mystery. how good are you at being undercover?

Consider that we look like ordinary students. I think it'll be fine.

let me ask you something. have you received anything weird in the mail yet from those guys?

Not me.

that's a start. vantas and I were starting to wonder where the packages are coming from and if we could trace them back. see if people can intercept other people's packages, stuff like that. if we're getting specific stuff, then it's within reason to say that's a problem don't you think?
