your best bet would be to get a professional to do it or you're going to risk the color not sticking, depending what color your hair is now. for real though my mom uses l'oreal shit to touch up her grays all the time and that seems to work for her

so real question. what color hair does "your friend" have now?

means the color will show up better whatever you choose, but it might be harder to treat if it reacts negatively
on the other hand, if the dye is too hard your friend could just go with a wig. might be easier, actually
