The first milestone for the second of the colors lost has been met, and accordingly we have diverted resources to fix what could be fixed. R&D has alerted me that a bigger loss may occur in the near future, and I would advise you to be careful, though I am afraid neither they nor I can be much more detailed than that. Finally, I would like to extend congratulations to those of you who have now reached your sixth month. We hope you will continue to accept our assistance in these trying times. Usernames are the character's full real AU names, not aliases or chosen nicknames or usernames, and seemed to have filled themselves in; nothing characters do can change or obscure their names currently. Any new characters will find that the first photo they upload is locked as their profile picture for the rest of the month. Characters who have been in game since February will find their profiles now have a 6 months badge. It does absolutely nothing of note.

Especially with the "bigger loss" that may be coming. From what I've gathered so far, it could be anything.

I guess it's time to run to the grocery store and stock up on milk and bread.

Nonperishables would last longer, for an emergency situation.

It's just a joke about how people act in snowy weather. Always with the bread and the milk.

But we should probably actually do that.

Ah, I wasn't aware. I was thinking of all those safety lectures from elementary school instead.

I think every single person over twenty-five immediately forgets that bit of common sense at the first sign of bad weather.

Trust me. I read all of "Where the Red Fern Grows" as an assignment and now all I can remember was the tragic ending. You forget almost everything you don't need for life.

I'd be amazed if anyone could remember all the books they've read, honestly. Especially if they weren't particularly interesting to begin with.

I started going to an American school when I was about nine and had a lot of obligations. So most of it was in one ear and out the other until I properly learned English.

That sounds about right. I didn't know English when I first moved here, either, so I made up my own lessons until I could follow along.

It's pretty rough, isn't it? I had a decent start on the language, but not good enough that I could really retain that. Combine that with mandatory reading being bland, and I guess that's what you get.

I was certainly lucky that elementary school grades aren't taken very seriously.

But I imagine that the endings are all you really need to know for those "classic" books.

Or the general plots.

Which are mostly "something you love dies or leaves."

I guess happy endings aren't meant to be easy.

Or perhaps they just don't sell as well. People seem to enjoy a dramatic story more than a happy one.

Actually, wait. Did you ever have to read those kids books about "Fudge" or whatever the boy's name is? Or "Ramona"? I don't remember hardly anything other than I don't think they went badly.

[Too badly, anyway. As far as books go.]

Yeah! That was the brother. I think the brother was Fudge. But then there was one with a parrot? It came after.

I don't think I remember a parrot, though. Maybe I didn't read that far.

I'm going to end up going back and reading a kid's book now just to find the bit about the parrot. I remember it being funny then.

I'll probably not care now.

If you still have those books, I'd be impressed. I think I gave away most of the ones from my childhood.
