hey everyone! it's been a little while, so I have two things for you all. the first is that I've written up everything we saw on the ghost trip I organized late last month. if you'd like to hear the details, let me know and I'll send over the document. the second is that I'm starting an advice column! I need things to write advice about, so feel free to comment with things you'd like help with. I promise I'll try my best to make it good advice. I'm definitely returning as a teacher next year and I need the experience! ...... and the bingo square.

just like some people have cool eyes and hair or they can cast spells and conjure things, I can see supernatural stuff.

I'm not really that special otherwise

it's as legitimate as anything else people have ended up with
but I won't pretend it isn't a little scary.
it seems like magic is something people can get used to but the moment you get into soul stuff or spirituality they freak out.

Ghosts are

Ghosts are souls. Or life energy.
Does that mean we have souls?
Does that mean there really is some kind of afterlife?

I think that's oversimplifying it.

they weren't like... full people. they couldn't always answer questions coherently. most of the time they were affected by strong emotion, either their own or something else in the woods.
if someone was aggressive toward them, they'd be reluctant to answer questions. but if they saw your gentleness they would relate to you.

I think they're shades of the people that they used to be. maybe the soul moved on but it left an imprint, like when you rub a crayon across paper...
I can't really say.

my old self didn't talk to ghosts all the time. his friends were living people who just happen to be invisible to humans.

Invisible is hardly the same thing as ghosts.
Though I suppose it does open up the possibility these aren't actually dead people.

exactly. and I bet they'd be happy to tell you that! but the energy they give off is similar enough that it translates, I guess?
I don't really understand it myself. obviously things that are called supernatural or ghosts here aren't the same as the ones in my past life.

maybe it's not your belief that needs to change, but what your definition of a ghost is.
