yo. looks like there's still some residual effects coming up, but they should be pretty harmless since the kid was in charge of redistribution. she says it should be "cool". just don't do some damn idiot thing about them and you should be fine.

this is absolutely not in my job description but the intern's busy and half of r&d is still banned and hr is on honeymoon. so you'll just have to deal with the lack of fancy bullshit.

anyway. good luck or whatever.

As a reminder, a thread from this post with at least five consecutive comments from you is this month's qualification for a free regain!

Please feel free to use this post as a network mingle. Every toplevel can be considered a new post, and threadjacking is permitted. No NPC response will be given. Usernames are the character's full real AU names, not aliases or chosen nicknames or usernames, and seemed to have filled themselves in; nothing characters do can change or obscure their names currently. New characters will find that the first image they put as their userpic is locked in for the month, though it will be able to be changed in October.

Yes! They are all similar sized so I can't do anything as interesting as your different sized cats.

...

Are you still looking into adopting a sixth cat?

I'd very much like to, but I don't think our house is big enough for six. :( Maman feels that five is enough, too.
I do still want a sixth; I feel like it'd even things out!

While you're living under her roof, I suppose it's her rules. But when you get your own place, then you can have as many as you want.

[Mmmmm still has no idea how to feel about the prospect of getting her own place, especially since pretty much all her friends are doing it now, but that's her own battle.]

That would be nice, wouldn't it? Although if it's an apartment, the pet deposit would be particularly expensive...

[He's not about to push her on that topic. If Akira hadn't suggested moving into the shared house, he probably would've stayed at home. Or moved into dorms if his mother had insisted it was important he try living alone for a bit.]

True... and apartments are more affordable than a house straight off the bat. In theory, at least.

And if I get a roommate to share an apartment or house with, they'd have to be all right with cats and the flowers I plan to grow there.
There's a lot to take into consideration. :( I'm glad you found an arrangement that suits you!

Cats and flowers don't seem like a hardship. But it would be best to make sure they have no allergies...

It was something of a coincidence really. Had Akira not suggested it, I probably would've just moved into dorms.

[personal profile] gunsandveggies 2017-09-09 06:27 pm (UTC)(link)
I'll have to put that in my profile if I go looking. Warning: Likes cats and flowers! Please avoid if you have allergies!

I'm glad he did! I think you thrive when you're living with other people. :) It helps you find inspiration when you branch out to others like this.

It would be fair to do so. You might be surprised too: liking cats and flowers could be a big draw for potential housemates.

People are interesting subjects. We're all so different in appearance, and the way we move and the angles or curves of our bodies. It's difficult not to be inspired by them.

Wouldn't that be grand? Getting a roommate who has a shared love of cats and flowers? (☆▽☆)

I hope you find plenty of inspiration from your new roommates, then! I know Akira; his hair's almost as curly as mine!
fabrefactions: (94)

[personal profile] fabrefactions 2017-09-12 08:59 pm (UTC)(link)
I suspect there are more people who fit that criteria than you think. A lot of people love cats, and a lot of people love flowers.

Yes, but in a different way.
[Brace yourself, Haru.] Your hair is more... fluffy. It speaks of softness and gentleness, and translates so onto canvas. It matches with your true self as well - friendly, warm and bright.

Akira's hair is more... wayward. There is little logic to it in the way there is in how your hair curls. His is... reckless and follows no neat style or pattern. It would take a lot of sketching via visual practice before I would be able to recreate it from memory the way I am able to with your hair.

[There's a pause as she reads that over and over again. Then, Haru giggles, a happy little blush on her cheeks as she texts in return.]

And you say I'm the one who should get into poetry!
Are you sure you don't mean yourself?
fabrefactions: (62)

[personal profile] fabrefactions 2017-09-13 09:14 pm (UTC)(link)
No. I am merely... describing things in the way art should be described. Art says so many things without words, that I think you have to overstate if you want to describe it outside of a traditional artistic medium.

And you should definitely try poetry. You could have a nice book to store it all in! I feel inspired when I have a new sketchbook to work my way through. It's materialistic, but oddly motivating.
gunsandveggies: (✿ 40)

[personal profile] gunsandveggies 2017-09-15 12:34 am (UTC)(link)
And poetry is an artform itself. Describing art with such poetic words only makes sense when you think of it that way!

Maybe I can stop by the bookstore and buy a journal of some sort. The leather ones are fairly pricey,
but I'm sure even the cheaper ones would inspire those same feelings.

I think it's more the joy of the clean pages that is the trick, rather than the cost of the notebook. Even one of those cheaper ones meant for class work would probably inspire the urge to write on their pages.
gunsandveggies: (✿ 39)

[personal profile] gunsandveggies 2017-09-17 08:47 am (UTC)(link)
That -would- save me some money...
If that's enough for inspiration, then I wonder why companies make those expensive ones?
You've seen them before, right? The ones that are leather-bound with "authentic" pages?
They're beautiful for sure, and perhaps inspiring in their own way, but they'd surely take a bite out of my wallet first. (;¬_¬)

[School campus notebook it is, then! Maybe he can accompany her while buying her first notebook!! ... Well, notebook specifically for writing.]

Aesthetics.

[I mean. They do always LOOK really nice.]

But there may be a difference in the paper quality - they do the same with sketchbooks. The thicker, smoother papers that hold ink and paint better usually come at a higher cost.

I would guess it's the same for a writing notebook, especially if you use fountain pens. The thinner the paper, the more likely it is to bleed through. (。・ω・。)?
gunsandveggies: (✿ 50)

[personal profile] gunsandveggies 2017-09-18 03:08 pm (UTC)(link)
I see! (*´・o・) Paper quality is so much more important than I thought it was!

[Not that she didn't think it wasn't; she knows there are different types of sketchbooks with qualities and textures that range from cheap and thin to rich and thick, but she didn't think it applied to writing as well. Interesting!]

Though with art, you draw with the intent to show to your audience. If I wrote poetry, I think I'd write it down, then type it later. My handwriting's not one to write home about! [Not that it's bad, but it's certainly not the flowing caligraphy that you often see in museums or tv programs.]

[personal profile] fabrefactions 2017-09-18 07:01 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes, it is fundamental!

[Cost cutting will always mean cheaper, thinner paper. At least, that has always been Yusuke's experience.]

There might be something charming about keeping your original handwritten pieces, at least for reference. I'm fairly sure there are places in the United Kingdom where you can see the original manuscripts of Shakespeare's plays...

[A quick google search on her phone, and:]

It looks like at least one of them's being kept in the British library, though they had one on display in D.C. last year before returning it. It's incredible to think that writing can last for so many years!

The things we create are more resilient than we realise, it seems. °˖✧◝(⁰▿⁰)◜✧˖°

I wonder if they are more careful with it because it is a by a famous playwright.

[personal profile] gunsandveggies 2017-09-25 04:36 pm (UTC)(link)
I imagine so! Keeping the manuscripts of a famous playwright is important to our history, after all!

Though it does make me feel bad for the writers who aren't as well known. :( If their manuscripts weren't preserved and just left to wither.

I imagine so. There are probably many true gems that have been lost to time and neglect that we will never know about.
