[ The two behind the counter were arguing. Well John was arguing, waving his hands about and talking in an exaggerated elderly woman's voice while doing. Tarr was just giving him that blank stare that use to be an effective way to make the guy shut up, but that had been years ago. These days, it just meant that John was going to lean more into his space, making a cute face and puckering up his lips like he expected to be kissed or something. ]

[ David lets out a sigh, shaking his head. It's about par for the course around here. Almost refreshing, in a way. He walks up to the counter, tapping his fingers against it while he waits. ]

Come on you two, get a room already.

[ The smile on his face belies the attempted serious tone. ]

[ Jae noticed David so after giving Tarr one last kissy face, he turns around and leans over the counter. ]

[ Tarr turns to the coffee pots and starts to mix up an iced coffee. ]

Jae don't lean on the clean counter.

[ The younger man blows a raspberry and instead goes to the cake display, taking one out to start slicing. ]

[ His grin widens as he leans back, crossing his arms now. ]

So outside the usual, anything else I should be aware of lately? [ He doesn't mention anything with RetroSpec. No reason to with Jae around. ]

[ Jae clutches at his chest with a dramatic gasp, but after that he gets back to work and cleanly slices it and places one piece on a plate and adds a few decorations.. Setting a fork on the plate he slids it over to David before bustling to the back.

Tarr just huffs and finishes the coffee and comes back over to David. ]

The summer flavors are getting shelved for the season, and if you boss wants a special order, he better make it in advance.

[ David watches before he shakes his head, already with fork in hand before Tarr comes back over. ]

We've had ten orders for the cheesecake, twenty for the cupcakes and someone is pushing for the idea of a wedding cake. I had to turn the wedding cake down; the cake is too delicate and dries out too fast.

[ There had been several messages on the business line to moment last month ended. Tarr has grown to be unsurprised by the amount of crazy that happened over a flavor that he personally didn't care for. Sure, it was a profitable flavor, but he was always glad when the season was over and he could stop making it. ]

So instead of a wedding cake, it's mini cakes for the rehearsal dinner.

[ He gives a grimace, sticking his tongue out before finally making a move to take a bite of the cake. It's good, as it always is. There's a few moments before David pipes up again - ]

[ Meanwhile the apple and cranberry and peppermint was far easier to tolerate. He actually liked them and could make various versions of them to go for almost anything. Tarr pours himself a regular cup of coffee and adds a couple pieces of chocolate to it. ]

It works whenever it wants and wherever? It seems insistent about everything too. I've read what some of the others say and it sounds like no matter what I do it's going to bother me.

Basically, yeah. Also worst customer service ever - don't even bother trying to talk with them unless you feel like screaming into a void.

[ There's a small sigh before he pauses, expression actually pretty serious. ]

Anyone that has the app and is connected to it seems to get flashes of vivid hallucinations of themselves, but not quite themselves. They're more like memories, or at least they feel like it. I'd say we're all slowly going crazy but there's things I can't deny. Like overnight changes that I know weren't there at first.

[ David runs a hand through his hair, making sure his fringe was out of his eyes as he takes another contemplative bite of the cheesecake. ]

[ It was an old joke, mainly because Tarr looked less like a businessman and more like he was planning murder. He was smiling just a little when he said that, so it wasn't that he took offense to the jab. Stirring his coffee he took a sip. ]

[ He gives a small, lopsided grin, but it's gone quickly. ]
