yo. looks like there's still some residual effects coming up, but they should be pretty harmless since the kid was in charge of redistribution. she says it should be "cool". just don't do some damn idiot thing about them and you should be fine. this is absolutely not in my job description but the intern's busy and half of r&d is still banned and hr is on honeymoon. so you'll just have to deal with the lack of fancy bullshit. anyway. good luck or whatever. Wendy Guo Security Retr ![]() As of this post, normal lemons now exist alongside the dancing variety!
As a reminder, a thread from this post with at least five consecutive comments from you is this month's qualification for a free regain! Please feel free to use this post as a network mingle. Every toplevel can be considered a new post, and threadjacking is permitted. No NPC response will be given. Usernames are the character's full real AU names, not aliases or chosen nicknames or usernames, and seemed to have filled themselves in; nothing characters do can change or obscure their names currently. New characters will find that the first image they put as their userpic is locked in for the month, though it will be able to be changed in October. |

Come on you two, get a room already.
[ The smile on his face belies the attempted serious tone. ]

Are you going to beat Tarr up? He needs a good one.
Do not.
[ Tarr turns to the coffee pots and starts to mix up an iced coffee. ]
Jae don't lean on the clean counter.
[ The younger man blows a raspberry and instead goes to the cake display, taking one out to start slicing. ]
no subject
[ His grin widens as he leans back, crossing his arms now. ]
So outside the usual, anything else I should be aware of lately? [ He doesn't mention anything with RetroSpec. No reason to with Jae around. ]
no subject
Tarr just huffs and finishes the coffee and comes back over to David. ]
The summer flavors are getting shelved for the season, and if you boss wants a special order, he better make it in advance.
no subject
Figured. How many people are clamoring for the pumpkin spice already?
no subject
[ There had been several messages on the business line to moment last month ended. Tarr has grown to be unsurprised by the amount of crazy that happened over a flavor that he personally didn't care for. Sure, it was a profitable flavor, but he was always glad when the season was over and he could stop making it. ]
So instead of a wedding cake, it's mini cakes for the rehearsal dinner.
no subject
[ He gives a grimace, sticking his tongue out before finally making a move to take a bite of the cake. It's good, as it always is. There's a few moments before David pipes up again - ]
I can only stand it in small doses. Anyway -
How much do you know about the app?
no subject
[ Meanwhile the apple and cranberry and peppermint was far easier to tolerate. He actually liked them and could make various versions of them to go for almost anything. Tarr pours himself a regular cup of coffee and adds a couple pieces of chocolate to it. ]
It works whenever it wants and wherever? It seems insistent about everything too. I've read what some of the others say and it sounds like no matter what I do it's going to bother me.
no subject
But beyond that -
[ There's a small sigh before he pauses, expression actually pretty serious. ]
Anyone that has the app and is connected to it seems to get flashes of vivid hallucinations of themselves, but not quite themselves. They're more like memories, or at least they feel like it. I'd say we're all slowly going crazy but there's things I can't deny. Like overnight changes that I know weren't there at first.
[ David runs a hand through his hair, making sure his fringe was out of his eyes as he takes another contemplative bite of the cheesecake. ]
Be careful.

[ It was an old joke, mainly because Tarr looked less like a businessman and more like he was planning murder. He was smiling just a little when he said that, so it wasn't that he took offense to the jab. Stirring his coffee he took a sip. ]
Like what kind of changes?
no subject
[ He gives a small, lopsided grin, but it's gone quickly. ]
My boss suddenly learning fluent Thai overnight, for one.
no subject
[ Because even if they got on each other's nerves from time to time, they still worked together well. They both had their style and their specialties and neither one would ever screw up food.
Unless they were pranking each other's lunch. ]
And he didn't get it from listening to Thai while sleeping?
no subject
[ He raises his eyebrows with a knowing look, but lets it slide past that. ]
You honestly think Yoon-sung would've suddenly decided to learn Thai on a whim? We were in the middle of working on coding updates even besides all the bullshit that's been going on lately.
no subject
I don't know what your boss would or wouldn't do on a whim. Remember he decided to squish my cheeks together when he first met me. [ But he relents on that point, taking a sip of coffee while watching the others move about their work. ] So changes and weird happenings. Is that tied in with half of my food dyes being gray?
no subject
To be fair, you did look cute then.
[ He digresses, though, only to nod at the mention of the food dyes. ]
Yeah, that's ... been a thing for a few months.
no subject
[ He is the scary emo-goth baker, not a cute little animal of any fuzzy variety even if David calls him that kind of thing all the time. It wasn't like Tarr asked to look like some kind of strange anime character. ]
Any idea as to why?
no subject
We're not totally sure. It's slowly starting to come back, but not fast enough for some of us. Might mess with a few of your orders for a while. I'm not thrilled about being partially colorblind either.
no subject
I can always switch it up and say that we are trying out a surprise color icing with our orders.
no subject
Don't think anyone would really notice either way. Anyone not on the app tends to act like nothing's wrong or maybe for them nothing is wrong. I can't say. I've got a two-month block of memory that's fucked up apparently because I wasn't on Retrospec. Scared the shit out of some people, apparently.
no subject
[ He found a piece of not-quite-melted chocolate in his coffee and fished it out to chew on, his eyes closed. ]
That should make it easier then, unless the color comes back and I have created a clown cake by accident.
no subject
Everything else, though...
[ There's a few moments' pause as David grits his teeth. ]
Just be prepared to see some weird shit. Memories that you swear are real, but you know didn't happen. Or at least not to you here. Or something like that. I'm still not completely sure how the memories work.
no subject
[ Baking was an art, almost as much as an art as his music. And if there was one thing that Tarr hated, it was not making his art perfect. But the other stuff, well Tarr just frowns at that, snagging a fork and taking a piece of David's cake without even thinking about it. It wasn't like they hadn't shared food before after all. ]
Memories... as in from a past life or a different life or someone else's life?
no subject
[ He'd protest, but he's sure he's done worse under the circumstances. It's fine. ],/small>
