The baking party has started and the first batch of Minako's Valentine's Day Festa truffles is done! And will be eaten while I frost the cupcakes, hehehe. Come by the RU kitchens any time you like, I'll literally be here all night with my friends Chocolate, Sprinkles, and Coffee. Let me know if you need directions!

[Chloe had promised to make an appearance, and there was time to do so before she went out to meet Peridot for their date. She was still almost dreading that little venture, but it would be fun she told herself. She made a note to bring at least a couple truffles for Peridot too, figuring it was a good way to appease the mad scientist.

Regardless, she was there before she was scheduled to meet, dressed nicely in a simple dress and an overcoat to cover from the cold of February. She smiled at anyone who happened by and watched curiously to see if maybe there were people she could meet who she might be going to school with next year.]

[Alice is around early in the evening, happily and carefully adding bits of dried fruit to molten chocolate. Things aren't turning out so hot in the "shape" department, but if you like chocolate blueberry bark there's plenty of it to go around after everything flattens out.]

Oh. Well, chocolate's chocolate.

[She's dressed plainly and partly covered in chocolate smears, so she needs to go back to her apartment before her unwitting but not unwelcome blind date, meaning that more toward the middle of the evening she can be seen frowning at Minako's refrigerator, waiting for her confectionary genius to solidify.]

Well hello there, Alice. It's nice to see you. Minako invited me to come, so I decided to make an appearance. I... have a date, it would seem. [She laughed a little at that.] As friends, but it should be interesting.

She is a very ... energetic person. [Pause. Oh!] Do you have plans today?

Oh. I wound up signed up for a date too. He seems...levelheaded. It'll be nice to have someone to get dinner with, at least.

I said I'd be here, though, and I was really looking forward to it, so I guess we're in the same boat.

Yes, it would seem that we are. [She glanced around, seeing no boat, and assumed it was another expression. This one, at least, was clear enough in context.] Perhaps the two of you will enjoy yourself. I hope so. I think one of my friends probably signed me up, as repayment for trying to set them up so often.

[She grinned innocently.] The price of playing cupid's part, but I like for people to be happy and find love.

Oh? [She cocked her head and smiled at that. She'd always wanted a little sister, but her adopted mother hadn't married.] I didn't know you had a sister. What is she like? Other than demanding of her private time, it seems.

[Luckily for Chloe, there's a wrapping station off to the side, little boxes and wrapping paper and ribbon strewn across the counter in a cheerful mess, with an equally cheerful baker coming over with a plate of cooling cookies.] Oh, hi Chloe! Glad you could make it. Want a snickerdoodle?

A watched pot never boils-- or something like that. The metaphor isn't quite the same but I think the meaning behind it still applies. [Minako walks by with a big tray of banana bread, fresh from the oven. She shoots Alice a little grin as she sets it down to cool.] Alice, right?

[It was very convenient, and quite helpful. She walked over and took one of the little sugary treats while it was still quite warm. Nothing like a bit of cinammon in one's life.]

Morgan's a good kid. Outspoken, has some questionable decision-making processes, but she's really committed to being who she wants to be.

That's her, alright. I don't...recall her giving me any stuffed animals lately, though.

[Morgan had better not be bogarting a stuffed lion, not that she's going to say anything on the subject out loud.]

Ah, she had said it was for her sister, but it was also a while ago, so perhaps I misremember. She is an interesting one, certainly. Very energetic. Will she be coming here next year, do you think? Perhaps we might end up in class together at some point.

I'm doing my best. Getting her to focus on academics is kind of a challenge.

I... from the few times she and I have spoken, I can believe that. She seems the sort who would do well in athletics, but be hard to get to sit down for long to study. [Note, she didn't say Morgan was stupid, just... energetic, and didn't seem that worried about studious sorts of things.]

She is certainly very strong.
