watching x-files with no lights on, we're dans la maison
Happy 3 AM, fellow Retrospectres who can't/won't sleep because of all the nightmares and ghosts and memory fog and all that (and happy morning to anyone who checks their phone later, I guess)! I'm going to fall asleep if I don't start talking to someone soon and I'm trying to make it until dawn.
IF YOU ARE AWAKE RIGHT NOW, PLEASE WEIGH IN ON SOME/ALL OF THE FOLLOWING TOPICS (or you can message me when you wake up, that's fine too) :
-If this fog thing lasts for much longer, isn't it going to get in the way of Trick-or-Treating? If it rains (/creepy memory fogs) on Halloween, what do little kids (/university students who don't really get to celebrate Halloween in their home countries and would like to) do instead? Do I have to make backup plans or can we start some sort of safety Halloween caravan to protect the little kids (/occasional university students with no cool powers or survival instincts) from the monsters?
-Dave and I made a Finnish-language movie about magic pirates (and some other stuff, lots of symbolism, it's very deep), does anyone want to see it? Here's a trailer: x [this links to a trailer spliced together from this disaster, namely shots of Mafuyu hurling fake severed heads into the distance, Magician's Red looking ominous on camera, someone singing something to the tune of 'A Pirate's Life For Me,' though the accent is so strong it's not identifiable as Finnish, multiple clips from fight scenes, a creepy rabbit mask, and absolutely no subtitles.]
-Completely unrelated: currently taking applications for subtitle and/or scriptwriting positions. Compensation consists of lunch from a taco truck and a couple half-completed customer loyalty cards from various cafes, and you can put it on your CV. Please contact me for additional details.
-What are your top three coffee places in the city, I'm going to try all of them by the end of the month
-Is this better or worse than when half of us disappeared and there were monsters running around in the daytime
-What's the most comfortable lounge to sleep in on the Recolle U campus (during daylight hours, so please no big windows)
-Trick or Treat?

Alraune is the name of the species. I just call him the tomato. Because he is.
And sure. he's something alright.
You have any pets?

My roommates have two cats, so technically yes! They're named Morrigan and Katkat.

A lot of people seem to remember Tonberrys. I take it you don't?
no subject
(But isn't calling a Tonberry Ton sort of... obvious? That's like calling a cat "cat.")
no subject
He can talk a little, though not much. Big words are confusing for him.
And didn't you call your cat KatKat?
no subject
I guess if he likes it then that's all that matters
And no, my roommate named his cat Katkat and then he moved in with me, but hallucino-me apparently did call her cat 'cat' so
I guess this one is on me.
no subject
Also yeah I guess it is.

I'm sorry for questioning Tons' name, since I don't have any room to talk.
no subject
And it's cool, no worries.

Also, this is gonna sound weird and maybe vaguely insensitive but you're Scandinavian. Do you know Emil?
no subject
I am not Scandinavian, I'm Finnish! (So Nordic yes, Scandinavian no). But yes, I do know Emil, haha.
Assuming you mean Emil Västerström and not someone else. It's a pretty common name (in our countries, not really here).
no subject
And I do.
It just occurred to me. Hah. He and I got stuck in that craziness back in August.
no subject
did you also turn into an animal when you were getting chased by a crazy scientist? Because no one has actually told me what was going on there and I really want to know.
no subject
I elected not to drink the kool-aid. Or...eat the weird cake that Emil found.
We were in some lab and he found food and decided to share it, and people turned into animals. And then some other people said screw it and ate the cake and turned into animals too. I didn't because I had a feeling that someone would need thumbs.
Turns out I was right. We needed them to work the escape pod and blast off to space. Where we met a sphinx.
no subject
I mean Emil probably didn't see it coming but you're saying other people ate the cake after they already saw what it did?
This is the dumbest thing ever
I can't even process the escape pod to a space sphinx because the cake thing is so stupid.
no subject
I mean, it was harmless! But it was still stupid!
I can laugh about it now at least!

They learned their lesson.

Yeah I guess if you were really hungry that would make a pretty big difference
You guys didn't have food in one of your rooms, right?

imagine a whole week with nothing to do except solitaire on the computer, vending machine food, and of course...12 seasons of 2 and a Half Men.

CBS is dead to me because of that.
