To those recently introduced to the Retrospec application, welcome.

Ms. Wiseman's comments yesterday lead me into a jumping off point for a small reminder. If you are affected physically by your recollections and you would like a medical professional to look at what's changed or you require attention for matters related to this app that would be difficult to explain to another doctor, contact me. My name is Grell Sutcliffe, and so far I've been handling such matters for quite a while - I've also been physically changed myself, so I understand how disorienting the experience is. All visits and information are kept confidential, as would be expected for any patient. If you want to tell people, it's on your own time.

And going off of that, I have some findings for us all, ones that I confess are not reassuring in the slightest. If you'd rather not read this for peace of mind, none will judge you.

[the rest of this post is hidden under a collapsible link - letting people choose if they want to read on.]

Death is not permanent. At least when it comes to Retrospec users. There was an incident of someone being resurrected recently, and if you know who it is, I advise you to not go babbling about it. That's their information to hand out. But regardless, I personally could confirm the death, and on the same day, the person was in a hospital room unconscious but most certainly alive and recovering. No, I don't know how they did it, no, I didn't help them. I'm as baffled as the rest of you are going to be, and I cannot tell whether this information is anything short of frightening. Quite frankly, I was debating whether I should release this knowledge at all, but after consideration, it's best that you know.

I'll try to answer any questions as best I can.

You offer to examine them and they come right to you. I offer to examine them and they tell me I'm shady.

[ ...ah, yes. This was one of the first things she wanted to see in the afternoon after classes were done. Of course, she's not going to display any feelings in the slightest bit and instead make an attempt to get some information. ]

I do have a question myself. You said that you could personally confirm the death, but in terms of the body... did it disappear after they died or what?

That's why you had to sweet talk me into my job,
it's not a secret.
lostapprentice: (b: ew what is this)

this was recently? there was another post that suggested the same in september. some dark haired kid.

[He remembers this because the idea unnerved him and still sort of does. Not even death is an escape anymore, great.]

He's really good at getting people to buy expensive coffins.

My point is more that we would be learning more about what's happening to us if people were less squeamish. You can't die! What's to lose by letting me poke around?

Well, that's at least an interesting tidbit.

Measurable amounts, maybe?

[ THEY JUST WANT TO QUANTIFY. ]

little chance this is a fluke, then. i suppose retrospec doesn't want their hard work of retrieving our souls from destroyed universes to go to waste.

i don't know whether to be relieved or disturbed, though i'm leaning towards the latter. if things get bad enough to kill me i think i'd rather leave it at that.

just throwing out an idea but...could it maybe have something to do with the person's powers instead of death not being permanent?
playdolls: (animu | haha)

What good is a subject if I don't know what my experiments are.

That part can be sorted out later.

So it wasn't just that particular young man that's no longer on the network, then. It wasn't a part of his other self, to escape death, but rather something that afflicts us all.

no need. i would much rather know than to be surprised when and if it happens. sharing was the right decision.

[He gets so aggravated at Retrospec not even giving the option of hearing an explanation it would be even more hypocritical of him than usual to be angry about this.]

i assume none of the other people in the hospital remarked on the fact that this person had spontaneously come back to life for no reason.
