so about those physical changes
we all know they're a thing and they said something about this being some crap with souls and yadda yadda
but how can you tell for sure a change is retrospec's bullshit?
i'm not talking about your eyes turning pink overnight or growing a third arm or cat ears or what have you
i mean more like... when you wake up and discover a tattoo or two on you that sure as hell weren't there yesterday
and a piercing too
how do you know this is caused by retrospec and not because you got wasted last night and might have done some dumb shit on the way home (that you don't exactly remember anyway)?

metaphorically speaking ofc

Well, how much of an edgelord was your other self?

If they were edgy enough to go out and get piercings, then yeah. Probably Retrospec.

If you live with somebody else, couldn't you just ask 'hey did I come in wasted last night'?

does anything itch? does it hurt when you pee?
thats usually a good sign you made a bad mistake the night before

quick way to verify the answer to your question: are you seriously hungover?

The skin around a brand-new tattoo is likely to be sore and tender, with some irritation and bleeding. There may also be itching, oozing, or swelling. Piercings are less traumatic, but some soreness or discomfort would still be expected with one that's less than a day old.

So, metaphorically speaking, I would check the physical evidence.

that's a pretty specific example
if the skin isn't red or sensitive from the tattoos or piercings then it's a retrospec thing

Normal tattoos would probably hurt the next day.
I wouldn't know, since I woke up with one a while ago.
Mine was way bigger than anything you could get in a day, though.
