You know, this may be a slightly inane question, but since apparently I'm being made to deal with the local social media conspiracy firsthand, this is hardly the stupidest thing I'm going to decide to do. At least, as far as the rest of you lot tend to tell it.

So! While we're all here and blundering our way through this holiday season – does anyone have any idea what the ratio is here for "people remembering reasonably normal lives" set against "people whose past lives were apparently some sort of weird genre-fiction mess"? If you want to describe your particular brand of genre-fiction mess, do feel free, but it's not required.

Asking for a friend, obviously. ♡

I'm wishing you good luck. Just make sure to stick to one of the fighters once things go weird and the fighting starts again. That's about the only time when the stranger ones are also safer!

[I mean, as it stands he's going to have to deal with going to present in court with what looks like a nice case of demonic possession, if his eyes are any indication, but. Still. At least he'll be prepared.]

Well, that sounds like it has a story behind it.

Did you hear about how monsters kept ransacking the city and a good lot of people just got stuck somewhere outside of reality some months ago? Cthulhu drank up half the ocean and kept chilling on the beach as well.

Long story short, the people who "remember" and the Retrospec employees that were left had to work together to fix things, which included a big showdown fight at the end. Retrospec borrowed some of us weapons to have a fighting chance.

That was in August, wasn't it? I vaguely recall there being several movements to sue various people or corporate entities, and people otherwise attempting to claim compensation for damages that were caused by...something or another. The legal side of things was a nightmare for a while, and then there was quite simply nothing all of a sudden. It was incredibly odd, to put it delicately.

People seriously tried to sue the monsters? Wow, some folks are tough!

But yeah, that's it. Odd doesn't even begin to describe what went on at the side of the people who could see everything.

It wasn't so much the monsters as it was whomever was responsible for the monsters - apparently this started at that convention at the end of July. I won't say there were no grounds for it whatsoever, but nothing that could be proven in court, especially not to nor by anyone who didn't understand the full picture.

[...but yeah, people may have been interested in suing Kaiba.]

Hopefully everything is more or less under control now. I doubt it's going to stay that way, from what I've heard, but for the time being it's a nice thought.

That sounds really surreal, and I had to fight with a sloth and using rollerblades that rode on waterjets and rainbow barriers at that time.

Things have been mostly calm or at least harmless for the past two months. With a little luck it'll stay that way for christmas as well. How do they call it, christmas peace? Holly Cease Fire?

Whatever we're calling it, if we could somehow manage an armistice with the fabric of reality itself, that would be great. ♡

[like jesus christ, let's just hope we're calling it something like that and restrospec doesn't announce that we're moving into the second phase of Operation: Ho-Ho-Holy Shit or something.]

You know, it's really jarring to see a guy who talks like he's an attorney or at least working an an office like that end his texts with heart-emotes.

I'm decidedly less formal outside of work, at least as far as the hearts go - it isn't as though I can use them at work, after all.
