Secret Santa!!! Or, well, as secret as you can get around here.

Merry Christmas, everyone!!! I hope everyone had a nice Thanksgiving yesterday!!!

I'm Sora, for anyone who doesn't know me. Which is probably a lot of people lol. And I thought it would be a really cool idea to do something special on the network for Christmas!!! Or even if you celebrate a different holiday!!! I got the idea from the last post that Joanne made, and also a few other people thought it would be neat to do.

So I decided that it would be really cool to host a Secret Santa event!!! Because this time of year is all about giving lol. It's open to anyone on Retrospec who'd like to sign up!!! Just reply to this post with your name, and maybe how old you are??? And then also some suggestions of some things you might like. I'll close sign ups at midnight on December 1st (thats one week away!!!), and then on December 2nd I'll text you who you got!!!

I know people are really busy, so you don't have to give the person their gift exactly on Christmas lol. You can give it to them anytime this month!!! But also maybe give it to them before the end of the year lol. To keep it fair, you probably shouldn't spend more than like 30 bucks. But also if you see the perfect thing and its like 35 dollars I don't think anyone would be mad at you lol. But also don't just buy like a pack of gum, make sure you put effort into it!!!

I hope everyone has fun!!! Happy Holidays!!!

[OOC: This is your IC Secret Santa post! The rules are basically what Sora said above, reply to this post with your character, and you'll be signed up for this lovely event. This isn't quite a player plot, and there are no memories/point bonuses/other rewards that come with it, but it is a great time to meet new CR! And basically have fun with it in general.

Note that anyone who replies to this post will be signed up, regardless of if they actually were signing up or actually posted the information Sora asked for. Threadjacking is, of course, encouraged. You're also not required to follow any of the rules; go ahead and buy someone a $500 dollar laptop or a pack of gum if you want; there are no consequences no matter what you do. This is all just a baseline, so take it however you want and run with it!

Sign ups will close at midnight (EST) on December 1st, and you'll get your assignment sent to your IC Inbox sometime on the 2nd. Those entering in the current app round are welcome as well! The assignments will be chosen through a randomizer. You can then choose to coordinate with whomever you got for gift giving, or you can keep it a secret until you give them the gift.

If you have any questions or think I missed something, you can PM me or hit me up on plurk at datfearlesschick. Good luck everyone!

The holidays can be really expensive!

A couple of things: a new sequel to one of my favorite fighting games, an rpg i've had my eye on for awhile, and one of those adventure games. I'm really looking at the sequel to my favorite fighting game though.

I see.

[Even if this is over the network, Ryousuke's hum is almost audible. He files that information away for later.]

Isn't that just mindless button mashing?

[Obviously trying to get a rise out of Kuramochi here.]

[Kuramochi can feel it too. He almost asks about it when he sees what Ryousuke wrote next. Now logically he knows that Ryou-san is poking fun at him, but the game fan in him reacts.]

No! There's more to it! I mean, okay, the story for many of the games aren't too solid, but there are a lot of moves that are hard to pull off. You have to practice to get it right even then you have to learn the timing for the moves too so you can pull them off when playing against someone.

[Okay, now that he geek out about it...]

...Sometimes the button mashing can be good on a bad day though.

[That brings an amused smile to his face. There was no way a gamer like Kuramochi could leave that be and he knows it.]

This is a stress reliever for you? I'd have thought video games would cause more frustration than not.

[Or maybe you just suck, Ryousuke?]

I don't see how "juggling" has anything to do with it though.

[^ DOESN'T KNOW SHIT ABOUT FIGHTING GAMES.]

[He couldn't let it go! There are differences to games that most people can miss if they don't know about them. Not that Kuramochi would ever breach that subject with Ryousuke. He's knows to keep his distance.]

Actually rpg and action games cause me to stress out. At least I know what to expect with fighting games. It makes them easier to do.

Wait? Juggling? Oh! You mean when someone catches your character and keeps them up in the air. That's a precise thing too cause you need to know the moves to keep the character in the air or they're going to fall down.

[Kuramochi snickers when Ryousuke mentions juggling. He wonders if it's happened to him before.]

You'e saying there's a technique to it.
In that case, I hope your skills aren't too rusty, Youichi. Allow me to play.
