is anyone else experiencing an increase in DROPPED CALLS or TRASHY CALL QUALITY since the launch of Retrospec? long-distance in particular. or is there some other, better explanation for this change that I'm unaware of? after plenty of baseless excuses that turned out to be false, my carrier claims that there's noooothing wrong on their end. but what good are they? they also can't find an app on my phone that we know exists.

it's shocking that nobody else has said anything... unless it really is just me and every single phone I touch.

that would mean I care about your circumstances. that's your business. the only thing I want is data for my own purposes, my own conclusions.

let me know if you find anything, specifically. no matter what else goes wrong, I'd like to be able to call long-distance.

if multiple users have connectivity problems, I would think it would be more than just my issue..? but thank you. for going through the trouble to detail your poor call quality, just so you can tell me it's not an issue.

yes, you get it. it's my mother. checking in on her is a priority of mine. any solution to bypass this poor connection is a necessity.

very good. oh, and... if you discover anything related to long-distance calling, do send me a message over Retrospec if you don't wish to share your findings with everyone. this is a matter I'd like to have sorted out by any means.

it's never right away. I can always talk for a little. 25% of the time, the call is dropped.

but if it's not dropped, it's annoying and cuts out all over. there's no point in talking if you can barely understand each other.

have you been able to ask her if there's anything weird on her end? like outages in her area?

of course I asked, but she didn't think so. I have reason to believe everything is in working order where she is, anyway. think something like a hospital, where cell/telephone services are of importance. that wouldn't go unaddressed for weeks like this without serious complaint, would it?

I just find it more likely that it's from this end. that's all.

or that being part of retrospec is interfering with all our stuff. which it could be. or... i don't know. the stuff it's doing doesn't make sense in the first place, why not say it's to blame for why we're not getting through to who we didn't have problems keeping up with before?

it's easy to blame Retrospec of all things. it's unwelcome. but it's not for sure, not quite... that's why I want substantial evidence. to see a trend, to figure out how it's causing this disruption. a downed tower would be much easier to deal with, as you know. an app we can't remove from our phones, well.......

wouldn't the news report back on downed towers? usually the uh. whatever utility places tell you when lines are down or experiencing outages or stuff when you call, don't they?

riiight exactly. but that's one of the many lame excuses my carrier came up with! I WISH it were true so that things would get better with a simple repair, but I know better. nobody can explain this otherwise.

and if there's no way to bypass it, and no way to fix it, then trying Retrospec for answers seems to be the only method.

and about the decision of which apples she was gonna get
which tbh is a top quality hard decision here

apples are apples are apples, I hardly see the severity of this decision.

mostly seems to make more questions but i guess we've now heard it's a problem for a bunch of people. which. i don't know. can't say that gives me any better answers. this still sucks. i don't want it getting worse.

which is why we should stay on our toes and look for any opportunities to get us in touch with Retrospec.

I'll try Skype soon. even if I have to schedule a date to talk to her via mail, I'll do it and see what happens. there are lots of online services, and I'll try each one. if I find a solution, it'll be something, at least.

any word on if the office still locks people in?

grandpa's not going to really get anything other than Skype, but if that gets better or w/e, i'll let you know ig.
