is anyone else experiencing an increase in DROPPED CALLS or TRASHY CALL QUALITY since the launch of Retrospec? long-distance in particular. or is there some other, better explanation for this change that I'm unaware of? after plenty of baseless excuses that turned out to be false, my carrier claims that there's noooothing wrong on their end. but what good are they? they also can't find an app on my phone that we know exists.

it's shocking that nobody else has said anything... unless it really is just me and every single phone I touch.

I've had some trouble using my phone to call relatives long distance. But my mom's seems to work fine for some reason. We have the same carrier. I thought maybe my phone was malfunctioning. It's kind of old.

sure, that could be coincidence, that both of us are having trouble keeping a long-distance call, but... would you tell yourself that it's just "who you're calling"?

Now that you've mentioned it, I also have the same problems when I tried to call one of my college friends from France.

[Well, he didn't have problems calling his parents since they are still living in Recolle, but he became worried as his older brother is in Florida working as a veterinarian.]

But now that you've mentioned about our carriers are unaware of Retrospec, I'm beginning to feel that there might be a connection to all of this.

of COURSE not. this isn't news, Izukuuuu. I'm not the only one who tried to get a professional to remove the app for me, only to be treated to patronizing how-tos and a reissuing of my phone's manual. they're even pretending they don't see anything when I show them to their faces.

more importantly, you're saying that using a phone that isn't yours worked? reassuring... but not entirely. I haven't been so lucky. by the way... did you check the apps on your mom's phone when you were holding it?

France? give me more details. did you use only your own phone? have you tried borrowing one?

I did use my own phone when I called my friend just to meet him once more, but after a few seconds, the call suddenly drops.

I didn't borrow anyone's phone, but I did remember using my father's phone when I visited my childhood home after work. However, it did happen right after the Retrospec launch, so my call with my brother is not the best quality as I hope.

My phone works fine the rest of the time. Why shouldn't it be theirs?

you used your father's phone and similar problems followed you. the poor connection doesn't seem to have to do with the device or the carrier, if multiple people are experiencing it.

as untrustworthy as it is, I'm not saying it has anything to do with Retrospec, by the way.. don't misunderstand. I'm only saying that its launch coincides with the start of this trend.

I could say the same as well. In fact, I noticed that this app somehow launched before Founder's Day.

and so does mine. oh, except for when I try to call long-distance! figure that, that both of us are having the saaame problem. we'll just keep calling it a "coincidence", even if it's never resolved, got it.

it's already snug on my head. it matches the weird Founder's Day beads that wouldn't come off.

how about this: how many times have you tried calling south? two times? three? thirty?

my service can be shitty on my phone, but my internet at home's been cutting out when i skype and that's new. it's happened before, but that used to be once a month if that.

so it's the same even with Skype? odd. it should have nothing to do with cellular service at all. sure, cutting out happens.. but never at this rate. I haven't placed a successful call that hasn't cut out somewhere part-way through all month. but why would Skype be having the same difficulties?

who're you trying to call long distance?
back when i was younger and didn't have a cell phone, i would write letters and send them to who i needed to talk to
the post is pretty efficient, with a guaranteed overnight delivery option for when it's urgent!

a letter. right. that would make sense, but the recipient is away from home right now. even if I sent one, she wouldn't receive it for some time.

hmmmmmm a po box maybe? those can be rented out on a monthly basis for those away from home

and you expect me to convey this idea to her, how? if I had a call last for long enough to ask that I'd just as soon ask for a current address.

then I'll be the one to tell you myself. if you've only tried a couple times, you haven't noticed how consistent the problem has been all month long. how can you have a talk without a decent connection? it's been totally useless.

I'd like to meet that someone. every phone I've borrowed so far has the same problem as mine. or, are you saying yours would do the job...?
