I'm a model, you know what I mean...
Kenta Ooshima
03/01 near Recollé UniversityThis is the second time I have gotten clothing from Retrospec. The first time, it looked relatively similar to my Kendo practice outfit, although with a few extra elements, but this time...
[Yes, he did intentionally cut off his own face from the picture.]
This is clearly period clothing, and I don't mean a modern replica. It's the original thing. Has anyone gotten anything like it?

The crest on it is the same as the one on the hakama, and it also appeared on the other outfit I was given.

it's super fancy
do you know what the crest thing is?
a buddhist thing too?

I haven't found anything about the crest itself, though. The design doesn't seem to be recorded in anything I've found so far.

that part is pretty weird
you'd think if everything else is pretty easy to look up, something like that would be too, right?
i mean
idk i guess some things would be harder to look up than others
like the really really really old stuff

Plus it doesn't seem like my former master was anyone very famous, so the odds of any family records having been preserved is pretty slim.
The robes could be because of how long I stayed in a temple, too, and not be related to anything else.
[Can you tell how long he's spent thinking about this, Kashuu.]
[private]
ah
wow...
how much time have you spent looking this stuff up?
but i guess that could be true too
i was reading a little bit more about tsukumogami earlier
spirits in general
you know
it sounds like the state they're kept in or situations around them or things like that have an impact on whether they're like the kind that throws parties or like
idk
that evil futon that strangles people
so maybe clothing is the same??

we have 'bodies' because of this new master...
And swords tend to be treasured family heirlooms in general. Or they're kept in museums.
[private]
i mean
they're works of art and all right?
well you also stab people with them i guess but you get what i mean right
[private]
are clearly high quality. They must have been expensive by the standards of the time.
And some of them have been kept in perfect condition for hundred of years and they are probably priceless now.
[private]
that's one of those things that's still pretty weird to think about
[For the many, many obvious reasons.]

idk if you know her but she got a famous sword back at about the same time i did
she knew it was legit but no one's reported it missing as far as we know?
[private]
And that would mean that for every historical blade we are or get, there is now two of them in the world?
The blade I have is at Atsuta Jingu, and it's pretty famous due to its size,
so there would be something int he news in Japan if it had disappeared.
[private]
there are some other things that could explain it but it's not like there's any evidence of anything yet
nothing except for the fact that yeah, no one is freaking out

i don't really know what to think about it but
a while back someone said some people who aren't on the network here are basically like window dressings?
like
not as real as we are
idk
maybe the "real" sword out there isn't as real as we think
that kind of stuff hurts my head though

If we really are souls that were saved from destroyed world,
then the people we know, the people we are related to who are not on the app... what are they really? Dot hey even really exist?
[private]
yeah
i mean some people do exist obviously
like i've had friends pop up on the app after months and months of not knowing what's going on
but it kind of makes you wonder about the people who never get pulled on you know?
[private]
[And let him tell you, that is NOT a good feeling.]
[private]
no way of knowing for sure huh?
if we asked and got any response at all it would probably be the usual "you have to find out that stuff the safe way" spiel or whatever
[private]
[private]
he said something like
basically if we learn things "the wrong way" then it can create holes in reality and attract monsters to us
idk what "the wrong way" is but i guess just being told everything counts
