What's in a name?

Any name suggestions? Before you ask YES she was one of the shelter dogs in the Recolle 99th Precinct calendar.

How about Sandy? She's got a color that reminds me of sandy beaches.

Isn't it? She really has enviable eyes! What I wouldn't give to have such natural beauty. Not to mention she has the gold thing going for her; it's very Egyptian-looking, right?

If anything else, we could always have her adopt the name Cleo if it's too long or pretentious.

Man this is going to be a tough decision! I like Cleopatra but I also like several of the other suggestions. Like Belle or Sandy or Potato.

Yeah. Can't have that happen. If she turns into a brat it won't matter how cute she is! Better train her while she's still small. It'll be easier than telling an adult dog to get off the furniture and not to tackle every friend they see.

The name is still up for debate but I think I'm narrowing down the candidates to a top two or three.

That's a good one! Easy to remember and it matches her looks. I think my top three are now Sandy, Belle, and Cleopatra.

Well, I wouldn't have, but that's a good name for a bird.

It is easier to discourage bad habits when they're still young. My brother has two dogs, both spaniels. He let them sit on the furniture when they were young and now we can't persuade them off it.

Dogs love food! If she made the connection she would love her name.

It is! Still discussing the options with others. I think Sandy and Belle are the finalists.

Mate that is like saying "Dogs like, bones, let's name her Femur or Tibia. She'll love her name!"

That does make a good bird name but Whitney is more original and goes with the names of your other pets. Besides the songs of her namesake make people smile all the time!

Harder to undo the learned behavior than teach them the right stuff from the start huh? Makes sense! It's not fun to scold the furry child but it's a necessary evil.

Yeah that's the problem! I might just use them all. Pick one to be her first name and all the others will be her middle names. Her dog tag will have to be twice as large to fit it all.

I'm the one who benefits the most really. I get to keep the fur ball!
