Okay. Settle an argument for me because SOMEONE has messed up taste.

Would you consider this to be a love song?

Radiohead - Creep

Just don't ask me why.

ETA: what is your favourite love song?
drydrown: congratulations! (BOW ♡ it's fucking nothing!)

I aim to please...

Though really, is someone trying to argue that it's romantic in any way?
drydrown: those shoes with that dress though (EHHH ♡ now wait just a minute)

Well, if you ever want to cure them of that notion, horribly dissonant cover versions will work wonders for you.

And it seems like a lot of love songs are sad, at least as far as I can tell? Some of them are overly twee and happy, I suppose, but a lot of them just sound like unrequited pining to me. I don't understand how that's supposed to be romantic...? Or pleasant to listen to, for that matter.

Oh yes. Lotion, basket, imminent threat of hose, all of those lovely things.

I usually end up listening to instrumental versions of things, honestly - the sort of thing that can keep my mind occupied with something without having words to distract me from whatever it is I'm doing. Because the last thing I need to have is sudden confusing bursts of tangentially-related lyrics in the middle of reports I'm working on.
