is "you look like you go to hot topic" considered a compliment or an insult?

i've had this said to me before a few times but i woke up today with my eye color changed and now even more people are telling me this

i do not know hot topic's reputation enough to know if i want to be associated with it. please help

it's cool but as eye colors its ridiculous

periwinkle is close to a normal eye color at least, like baby blue eyes

purple is as far away from a normal eye color as possibly can be

seen white blue eyes too
not colored contacts either
