I think there are times when telling a lie like that is part of the way we're trying to make it into the truth.

Does she wish she hadn't lied?
I mean, would it have changed things?

I think that it is kind of like delaying the inevitable.

If we delay anything for long enough, maybe it'll stop being inevitable?

We'll be able to figure out better ways to deal with it when it gets there.
