How would you like to help us help you out? Your observation period's up and I want you on this particular assignment. You'll be fine, you're probably not going to die, and we'll be able to monitor you from here. We need help. You've got the skills needed even if you don't know it yet. I know it and that's what counts.

During that week apart...I was working on my guitar skills.
I recorded this to help me review my playing.
It's not high quality or edited, but...

[He sends an audio file, which is him singing a cover of this song. True to his word, it's not the best audio. It sounds like a live recording done on his phone, even with him naming the song before he plays it - it's not the only song he recorded for his own reference. Still the guitar playing is decent (not as good as his violin or piano, but still decent) and it's unsurprising Elliot's got the singing part down from how much he loves that movie.]

I know, it's cheesy and cliche.

[ oh? eren has to look around to make sure he’s more or less alone, but— putting the audio up to his ear, he lowers his head to his knees and listens. of course it’s from that movie, but whatever elliot typed up in defense, eren’s already deleted from his thoughts.

it’s beautiful. it’s not his violin, or the piano, but to eren’s ears it’s still a song that pulls at his heart and makes him smile goofy. he did this the week after it happened. the lyrics . . . fit. it’s not even corny, or cliche. elliot’s voice is what curls around his chest and squeezes him tight. elliot has a talent that he’s more than happy to see being used rather than hidden. ]
