OK, I don't normally show the stuff I get from Retrospec on the app unless it is REALLY weird (ex. the owl and the accent). But THIS! THIS IS SO COOL! IT'S A MAGIC FLYING BROOMSTICK! And it's apparently a Nimbus 2001 (no idea if that is a model number or year make) and man it is fast! Can we all just admire the the sleekness of this broom, the foot holds, and I'm pretty sure there is some kind of magical cushion so it doesn't hurt to sit on it!

Iwai! Did I never mention that my other self is a wizard and goes to a wizarding school in the UK?

The guy in my memories is a wizard Iwai. Magic wand, spells, magic school, and apparently a magic flying broomstick.

Well I'd say that's a new one but my boyfriend can do magic. Guess I just never pictured you as the broomstick type.

Apparently he is? I only have one memory with him and a broomstick and he's not even riding it yet. He's in a broomstick flying class and one of his classmates brooms looses control and he falls from his broom and breaks his wrist. I don't know what happens after that.

Was that other you friends with that kid that got hurt?

I don't think so considering in another memory Draco uses a the leg-locker curse on him just for the heck of it.

You're gonna have to explain that one to me.

[You know since he has no idea what a leg-locker curse is.]

In short, I think Draco bullied him.
The leg-locker curse is a spell that magically binds a person's legs together. There is no way they can pull them apart.

You were named Draco?

Yes. His name is Draco Malfoy. Though to be honest, almost everyone's names in my memories are rather odd. Crabbe, Goyle, Weasley, Snape. Harry Potter is fairly normal. And there is this girl with the last name of Granger.

The hell kind of names are all of those?

[blondferret]

Wizard names I suppose. I mean, the school is called HOGWARTS.

Howarts.

[Okay that's officially the weirdest name so far.]

There's a "G" so hoGwarts. HOGWARTS. If to be fair, The front door of the school has statues warthogs with wings flanking the door. I have yet to know much about this school other than it is in a castle and it is a magic school.

Can't say the g makes it a better name honestly.

Magic is kinda weird in this other world of yours from the sounds of it.

Is it? I have a wand, a broomstick, Draco went to a magic school and I even have his acceptance letter for the school. There are loads of supplies and book he apparently needed. At some point I'm expecting to get a cauldron since it's on the supply list.

I should tell ya that a lot of my knowledge of how magic works comes from the fact that I grew up in Japan. A lot of the stuff you're mentioning is pretty western.

Then what is Japanese magic like?

[geckoman]

Tends to involve ghosts and demons mostly. Strong emotions bringing on curses that last beyond death. There's kind of a reason why Japan's got some of the best horror stories and movies around honestly.

I'm aware of some of their ghost stories. I quite like the movie, The Ring. Not familiar with demons though.

The curses that last beyond death sound interesting. How does that work? Do the strong emotions stick to a person or something?

[geckoman]

Sometimes a person or sometimes to a place or thing.

Like say a kid is killed at crosswalk. If you go alone there then you might get led by the spirit of the kid to walk in front of a sudden speeding car because no one stopped to help the kid out.

It's like the dead can't always realize that the one they're pissed at probably isn't whoever they're going after.

Then couldn't anything be haunted in Japan?

[geckoman]

Pretty much. And if you go to Japan everyone in the area will know what is and isn't haunted.
