it's time for him to finally embrace all the arm puns he can think of
LOOKING FOR RICH PEOPLE WHO WANT TO PRETEND THEY'RE CHARITABLE

i just got this arm from retrospec
and there is NO way my dad's gonna be okay with it unless i can find a way to explain how i got it
so whoever wants to claim it be ready to make up some fake story about it
make up a charity or something idk

I hope you do find a solution that will be acceptable to your parents.

he's been real suspicious since day 1
but hey
maybe if this fake charity sounds legit enough he'll actually buy it

Would *you* have accepted the car crash story, if you'd been told it?

I'll probably regret saying this, but if you're coming up with a cover story, give some thought to whether you'd buy it if you heard it in the place of whoever you're telling it to. Makes for saving a lot of wasted effort.

so yeah he bought it
mostly
i think
he hasn't brought it up in a while
i'm not stupid i know that if i don't get some kind of evidence on my side about it that it's not gonna be convincing

yeah man thanks for stating the obvious
what do you think i've been DOING here

Well. My knowledge of what you have been doing is still limited, and you said that your father keeps not buying it. So I went with what I know makes a difference and you'd probably be surprised at how many people really, really don't think of it.
Keeping it simple is also a good piece of advice - in some cases. Probably not so much when it comes to a missing limb, a very legitimate reason for parents to be greatly concerned. But, on smaller stuff - well. It does seem like you know better than to explain to which doctor you took your grandmother to and what the diagnosis was, in detail, while deployed in a military base.
Like I said. Not many people think this kind of things through very well.

trust me i've been hiding retrospec crap from my dad plenty well and i've been on this app a full year
i think i know what i'm doing

The recent but catching up Retrospec user in me is very impressed.
Very definitely crap, though.
You can choose to not answer, but I'm curious. If he got the app, would that be a relief, or a problem?

problem
i guess
either he gets really messed up memories/stuff
or he has to find out what memories/stuff i got
or both
either way it's sucky
at least like this i get to minimize the suck

Thank you for answering. And for caring for others, for him, as you do. It is an honorable choice.
I hope he stays safe and that you do, as well, and that there is not much more left for you to have to deceive him about.
