how do I explain why I bleed ink to my boyfriend

-yes he's already seen it
-I was cutting up vegetables and scratched a finger
-it'd be great if someone could give advice relatively soon because I don't know how long 'I need to lie down and then I'll talk to you about it' will work, he's still panicking he's just not demanding an answer right this second

which of those makes your blood look black? or at least dark?

The first two would plausibly make blood darker. The second if the bleeding isn't stopping as quickly as it should.

If the bleeding's stopped and you show him you're okay, that would be a good first step to help him calm down. No matter what explanation or lie you end up giving, the important thing is that you're fine, right?

Your blood was black. Even if you only bled a little, you've got a whole body full of it; it could be seen as serious.

I never thought I'd miss the days when people off of Retrospec were totally oblivious to everything weird happening, but... I'm scared.

How did you explain it to your friends who were on Retrospec? Who might not understand completely, but are willing to believe you?
Maybe talk to your boyfriend the same way.

Most of those explanations for the ink blood went 'it's a Retrospec thing, it's normal for me now, it looks weird but it won't hurt me so I just deal with it'.

The worst is he realizes I'm lying to him and it damages our relationship. The absolute worst would be a break-up.
