Let's play a game.

Don't worry -- it's a very fun one, and most of the work is on my part, but I think it'd be a good time sink... and you may even learn a little more about yourself in doing so. You may quit at any point of time and gain rewards from it (those are to be decided, mostly depending on how far you get in your story), though seeing it through to a satisfying end would be the most fruitful for your time.

You check your party, like in an RPG you've played through four times.

Cassandra - A fortune teller who claims to see paths of the future. You're not sure you always believe her, but her magic stat is nothing to scoff at. A slight breeze will kill her. Wields crystal balls, which she's surprisingly good at throwing.

Peg Leg - A buccaneer who lost everything on the sea. He owns no less than three guns and lays claim to six others: all marks of his conquest. He's pretty much your go to guy for strategy and long-range expertise, as well as alcohol.

Jeremy - A stuck up centaur who's pretty good at throwing healing spells around, you guess. Pretty sturdy for a man of the cloth too. How does he even wear half of what he does..?

You - A draconic force to be reckoned with. High stats in all accounts, but in exchange you tend to fall asleep after high-energy situations. You can see from everyone's bond levels that you're well-liked, if not well-respected and feared, and that you currently have two swords equipped.

Spot - Your loyal pet. He usually gets unusual looks from other people when you first introduce him as such, but you assure everyone that he wanted this in the first place. Can hold things.

Spot stands at 5'9", with brown wispy curls and inquisitive blue eyes, of which he has two. He has one nose, slightly pointed, and below that is a small puckered mouth. He also has two ears of average size.

His two hands have five fingers each, which make them perfect for grasping and holding anything you need, but currently he is holding nothing. His clothes are on the nicer side (you always dress him nicely, he belonged to nobility once) and fit him snugly. Spot also has two legs, which end in two feet, of which you know he has five toes on each.

You quit the game. Though you receive no reward for your short journey, here is what happens for your meager time spent playing:

The Nightwalkers continue to feast on those that stray into the streets, growing bolder and bolder until they begin to break into the houses of the townspeople and consuming their flesh. The mystery of who, or what they are, remain unsolved.

Cassandra is burned alive due to the belief that she brings disasters, when she can only foresee them and wish to bring warning.

Peg Leg drinks himself under the table, gets into a bar fight, and loses his other leg to infection.

Jeremy returns to the church, where he goes on to become someone of high standing.

Spot wanders the land without master or kin, eventually falling in with the Nightwalkers himself. He isn't seen nor heard from again.

You have such a depressive mind. Spot was an indentured servant, and someone you cared for greatly. You would never consider him a slave nor would he consider himself enslaved; it was only duty to his family that brought him into your service. He's simply your "pet" because you take care of him as such, begin a dragon and he a puny little human.

As a writer with no visual medium available, you have a responsibility to consider what assumptions will be made and either correct them, let them go if they're unimportant, or use those assumptions to your advantage.
