Hello, Recolle.
Let's play a game.
Don't worry -- it's a very fun one, and most of the work is on my part, but I think it'd be a good time sink... and you may even learn a little more about yourself in doing so. You may quit at any point of time and gain rewards from it (those are to be decided, mostly depending on how far you get in your story), though seeing it through to a satisfying end would be the most fruitful for your time.
Now.
Please pick a genre and one of the following colors: Red, Blue, Green.
1. Fantasy
2. Dystopian
3. Romance
Your story's waiting to begin. ♪

Your apathetic assurances quell what fear lay in your mind and you stand, going to the shattered window and looking out.
What you doesn't take your life or sanity away, but nothing can stop the wind from being sucked out of you: A horse pale as bone, translucent as stretched skin, and a magnificently dark rider atop it, galloping across the sky line.
Unlike with the other three, nothing seems to come of it. Things are a little more quiet, maybe, but the world's at an end. Of course it's quiet.

[ who's going to deliver his food from postmates or run to the store for him?? it sure as hell isn't going to be his bonsai trees. ]

The thoughts pass through your mind, latching vaguely and then letting go as they always do, and finally settle on something that isn't so morbid.
Well, it's still a little morbid, you guess, but it's not ending your own life. For now.
You have a sister in the city. You're not sure how she's been, if she's even alive or if she's fallen prey to whatever the hell is going on, if she was one of the chosen who disappeared overnight... One of your neighbors had been that way, he and his children, and it was startlingly to realize that you weren't good enough to escape the suffering to come.
... Maybe it isn't so surprising, in the end. Most people aren't good.
Will you look for your sister?

akutagawa, being the volatile piece of shit that he is, stares at his phone like goro just told him he is the father. how a dinky little story game he wasn't even allowed to indulge in as a child because of gold star reading level bullshit has managed to prey on such prime insecurities, he has no idea. he can't possibly be this easy to read...or perhaps he is, it's not as if akutagawa has a working filter, and the such a state of apathy in the face of the endtimes--
wow, no, he is not letting this get into his head. he's stronger than that. this isn't a big deal. he's only bamboozling himself. ]

[ the sister in his memories, the one he only recently admitted to himself, albeit begrudgingly, that he felt a stronger connection and attachment to than his current sister, was an assassin; the commander of something called the black lizards. probably not a good person. he wouldn't want to know her in this life. ]
Regardless, I would look for her. Not to atone for whatever slights I've made in this lifetime that were so horrible that I deserved this fate, and not as a form of seeking permission to continue living.
There is no reversing this, but I suppose there's no harm in trying to find answers for my own absolution.
[ maybe in another life he would be willing to gnash his teeth in resistance until his dying breath. now, though-- well, not so much. all he can do is sing, dance, and say mean things to people. pointless acts without others to share them with. ]

You decide to look for your sister.
You know she took up residence on the other side of the city, away from you to foster more independence, and that she lives in an apartment alike to your own, but other than that you haven't very many leads. You search your memory for anything more and come up with a name:
Ben's Bargains.
Not as luxurious as one might want, but being close to the public had its advantages; she most likely saw everything as it was happening and was able to escape, for example, or she was quickly taken by the riders themselves. Violent rampages, a persistent itching beneath the skin, unsatisfiable hunger... You aren't sure what is a worse fate, but you do know that you never expected to have to prepare her for the end of the world.
It's to the north of your current location, Faith Apartments, and there looks to be little between you and the next street over.

*Faith* Apartments? I'm curious. Perhaps it's symbolic, or it could mean nothing. I wish to see.
[ maybe she has food in her fridge still........ ]
