005 ★ a few serious questions
[Mio's been left alone with her thoughts for a very long while and she can't help but feel avidly curious about a few things. She needs to confirm them, just to be safe.]
Hey, Retrospec.
I didn't get the chance to ask these questions since I didn't find out until recently, and I'm not exactly sure if I'm correct or not, but there's definitely a few things I want to ask. I need to be absolutely certain.
Can someone on the application change? Not changes as in memories or regaining their past lives, but rather... Can their memories and histories of their lives in Recolle change altogether? Can memories of someone who a person used to be close to be altered into something different?
Also, a follow up question. Has anyone been having weird dreams lately? Of people being in their dreams that usually aren't? I know it was just yesterday for me, but my dreams before that have been rather distinct and difficult to just simply forget, so I want to know if it's just me or not.
And if you're not interested in either of those questions... I already asked for cute things last time, so I'll ask this: tell me something funny you've experienced or seen recently. It can be anything.

But yes, that's exactly why I brought it up.

And no, I don't count that.

I'm too afraid to find out. I just found out from someone else that we're not siblings and that person isn't the type to lie...
no subject
And this has all happened around the same time?

And given what the Retrospec post was about... it's not like my concern is unfounded.

I'll try to be cognizant of this in my interactions too.

Not just memories of my time in Recolle either.
Whole life histories.
I was born in a different country last year than I was this year.
Different family, different university, different driver's license, the whole bit.
Then it happened to a friend of mine.
One day he's ex-military working in a car repair place
The next day he's five years younger, has no idea who I am, and has had his own woodworking business for a couple of years.

At least, I'm pretty sure I did.
no subject
how would any of us even know it

But I'm not just asking out of idle curiosity. I'm asking because I noticed that it might have happened to someone I know.
no subject
who
what happened

Someone told me that we weren't related and I thought that was strange, because I definitely remember us being related.

Besides, for what reason would they tamper with my memories to think that I had a twin sister that was on Retrospec and is now not my twin sister that still is on Retrospec?
no subject
for what reason would they tamper with your sister's memories
everything you're saying or asking could get flipped right around and the questions would be just the same
are you really sure you know what the truth actually is?
no subject
I don't know why they would tamper with her memories. Even though I was expecting this happening, considering the post they made. In fact, it might not be Retrospec doing this, but rather, whatever group is trying to go up against them. But I'm sure I'm right. I even checked through all the old Retrospec posts, too.
The person who said that she wasn't my sister said she was my sister in the older posts.
So I'm certain. I'll confirm it as many times as I want to make sure that I have the truth. I won't run away from it. If I'm the one who's wrong, I'll admit it, but in this case, with so much evidence towards what I'm thinking... there's no way I'm wrong.
no subject
That's not to say that they necessarily are, just that the opportunity does present itself.
So... perhaps? I don't see why not.
no subject
I wasn't really asking about whether the memories are fake or not, but rather if someone's memories of someone who lived here can change into a different memory of another life that they lived here.
But I want to hope that isn't the case, though.
no subject
I would still express the same view.
If we accept that memories are mutable-- that is, we can get "new" ones-- there's no reason I can think of that even our "real" memories can't be overwritten with "new" real memories.
It's not a pleasant thought, but I can't realistically think of any way around it.
no subject
It makes me uncomfortable, to say the least. Like, if our lives in this world aren't real... prior to the application, who's to say that our feelings from back then aren't, either?
no subject
It could be fabricated from start to finish.
I think the meaning these things have is that which we give it.

I've never wanted to learn anything else more desperately.
I think it's in all our best interests to be ready for whatever that truth happens to be.
no subject
Especially since whatever that truth is... I doubt it'll be a nice one.
