Well, this is pretty nerve-wracking, but I finally uploaded some music I composed. It's just four songs, between college and everything happening in Retrospec, I've been, well, pretty busy this year. But I hope to compose more soon!
Anyway... you can listen to them here. Please enjoy them.
And in less good news ... I had a rather troubling conversation with a ghost...
According to him, our Earth isn't what it seems. Apparently, while Recolle's real and stable, the rest of the world is actually a recreation of other Earths. It was made to be a centralized hub for planets across the galaxy that were destroyed, and Recolle's essentially the capital. It was all formed and balanced from the soul energy being generated by this city and the people here, and it's not exactly stable.
Good news, all the people outside of Recolle in this world are real, so it's not like our lives were fake. But bad news, if anything should happen to Recolle, the rest of the world would disintegrate. So...no pressure?
Oh, and has anyone heard anything about a river of souls beneath Recolle? A friend heard about it from another ghost, but we don't know much.
Sorry for all the troubling news. This isn't how I expected this post to go.

I guess it could be something extraterrestrial, that'd explain all the weird things that happen.
On the other hand, people suspect it has something to do with that Vanderweele guy.

[ He's onto you, Retrospec.
It's always aliens. ]
no subject
Sure. He could be an alien.
[Whatever makes you happy bruh]
no subject
This is Retrospec we're talking about, after all... anything is a possibility at this rate.
no subject
Aha...that's true.
[....he shouldn't. but.]
Though...since our souls are from different worlds...doesn't that make us the aliens?
no subject
To them, yes... however, that would also all depend on what worlds the employees of Retrospec are originally from. Since this hub is supposed to be a recreation of Earth in particular, then surely that must be where at least some of those employees are from.
[ not Vanderweele though. Fuck that guy. ]
Why base it on Earth otherwise?

What makes you think that? Does the world in your memories not resemble this one in the slightest?
[ He's pretty sure that his does. From what he's seen, the geography, at least, seems to be the same, even if the technology and the magic weren't. ]
no subject
Also there's monsters, magic used as technology, and....killer tomatoes.
no subject
[ He's sure there's probably a Duel Monsters card like that somewhere, but out in the wild, in the modern age? No way. ]
I guess that means you're an alien after all.
no subject
[No wonder Erebonia is constantly on fire]
Haha, guess so! I look like an earthling though.
no subject
I'm a little surprised. I would have expected greater genetic variation on other planets than what we have here on Earth, especially with all of the different kinds of atmospheres there are out there... not more humanoids.
Or tomatoes, for that matter.
Did your people ever try to reach out to the human beings on Earth since there were so many similarities? You probably already know this since you've lived this life on Recolle's Earth, but there's all sorts of rumors about aliens having contacted Earth's ancient peoples, including my own despite the utter lack of records on the matter.
no subject
Oh, you mean like that alien conspiracy guy meme? No, I can't recall anyone talking about contacting Earth or space travel...pretty sure we didn't even have the tech for that anyway. We weren't THAT advanced.
no subject
However, in order for that to happen, at least in connection to human beings as we know them, the world you came from would either have to have an Earth similar to this one, or another planet that was populated by humans, and for all we know, it could be that nobody talked about them because neither such thing existed at all... this is a different universe we're talking about, after all.
That being said, what kind of technology did exist, if it wasn't terribly advanced?
no subject
[Though he doubts it...]
There was a lot of things similar to stuff you see on Earth, but it was powered by magical energy - or "Orbal Energy" as they called it for some reason. Though there were different things too... like devices that helped you with casting magic, my staff that that can turn into a violin, giant mechas, gun knives....
But really from the sound of it they only had recently started to modernize, so it's very unlikely Erebonians were the advanced alien race you see in those those theories.
no subject
If all aliens are advanced as they're always shown in the movies, then why is it that people seem to think that the onus should fall on a species that's lucky to be able to reach the Moon to prove their existence when they're supposed to be the ones with a greater capability for space travel?
Surely civilizations on other planets must differ in their stages of development just as ours do.
no subject
Maybe if anything, the movies just reflect our anxieties about being alone in the universe than any reality. When I'm lonely, I usually try to seek out other people so I feel less alone. Maybe the big search for aliens is being fueled by that same feeling. And we assume them to always be more advanced because well... it's easier to think someone else knows what's going on better than yourself?
But yeah, I haven't heard of anyone from a super advanced civilization either.
no subject
Knowing that there are 7 billion people on this planet and almost none of them want to be involved with you is already a weight too heavy for one person to bear, but knowing that there are even more stars in the sky and not a single one of them is being orbited by a populated planet like ours is that much harder to come to grips with.
[ He might be projecting his own anxieties and insecurities a little. Unintentional, but there it is. ]
no subject
Yeah...that does sound really lonely.
But hey, if the events of this app does prove anything, it's that there's plenty of other worlds out there. And if we pull off restoring the worlds like Retrospec hopes, that'll be even more worlds.
You aren't alone, in other words.

[ Even for as lonely as he is in this life, he still recognizes that he's a lot better off than he was in his original world. ]

Though I'm not giving up my life here without a fight, I know that much.

Though I'm not exactly leader material...I'll keep you in the know!
