retrospec | (no subject)

It's been brought to my attention (again) that some of you are looking for compensation for the work you're doing. I'm open to that. So tell me, Retrospecters, what is it that you're looking for? Money? Answers? None of the above? I'm all ears.

The scouting project seems to be working out okay. I don't know if any of you have found a place that's really good to relocate or recover but maybe we should talk about that, too.

…finally, bit of a morality question for you.

What's the priority here, you think? Working on chasing Vanderweele down this rabbit hole of a wild goose chase (wow that is too many animal analogies), or memory recovery of the company itself? Both of them are about as convoluted as you think, but not impossible.

Wait, not finally. One more thing since someone brought it up: in case you haven't noticed yet, you might want to pay attention to the things you've managed to bring back because, and I hate to make it sounds real drastic, but the fate of the world kinda depends on it? Just a little. Welcome to your destiny, everybody.

It's possible to find a job where, functionally, you get to be that deaf-mute that everybody leaves alone, except to get that piece of paper that lets you continue living. If that's really all you want.

But I've thought that you also wanted the freedom to not 'play the game' of society in the first place.

I think we have enough people that we can spread our resources. Personally.

I'm still hoping that if we drop Vanderweele's work, then the rest of the city will be able to see Retrospec and help with that whole 'bringing them to justice' thing.

Retrospec isn't the people that have those answers, though. They don't know what they're doing. They didn't know even before they lost their memories. So that's less of my priority.

What's so important, in her world, that means she has to still exist?

As I've told you before, my scope of potential jobs is limited since I dropped out of high school. So, whatever. Not like I want an office job anyway.

What you want is the unattainable by someone of y your mentality.

There is a spell to keep them at bay. I just haven't remembered how to cast it yet.

And please, Dementors are the creatures that guard the wizard prison. When you are close to one, all the happiness is sucked out of you. And it physically gets ice cold around you when they are near. They're very unpleasant. I doubt he'd be able to handle them.

Also, you don't enjoy watching someone who has screwed with you suffer? Even a little bit?

Maybe just in case crazy stuff really goes down during exam week, ask your professors if you can take the exams early?

That's not a bad idea...if they'll let me do that anyway. Some of my professors are stickler for rules.

Zee isn't exactly on Retrospec's side, don't lump him in with them. He's trying to get his answers about the man he's remembering, just like us. So, I think his question is if those kinds of answers are our top priority.

Then I said it wrong, and I apologize. I'm not suggesting she shouldn't exist.

But, something I learned about the man I'm remembering means that he absolutely NEEDS to exist. Any answer that means he gets wiped out of reality is no longer an option for me, and I believe that's true for you, too.

So I was wondering what fact it was that made you think that way.

Even when Retrospec covered for us in the past, it wasn't always perfect. So while I'd rather manage this myself, some compensation would be welcome.

I'm taking US History to 1877. I took US History last year at Recolle High, but I barely got a B in that class and this one is even harder. I keep getting states and cities and people mixed up.

[locations of US states, not important info in Hong Kong, but very important when covering the Civil War]

I hope you have at least one professor who plans everything ahead of time... Like legit things out side of Retrospec comes up for students all the time.

Well, you have the option of a GED now, and there are even online correspondence versions so you can learn without dealing with another person.

You could even probably go farther than that, if you had sponsorship.

I don't know, I was never a fan of school. I'm pretty good at math, though.

They were starving, and the king planned to make every citizen a slave in order to make himself rich, then, he joined the fight against a secret organization that destroyed some other world without a moment's hesitation.

I only assume they succeeded because I am here. Which makes me worry if they survived to spread chaos, then destroy the world while everyone fights among themselves.

So, gaps to be sure, but it seems to me that he is pretty good.
