It's been brought to my attention (again) that some of you are looking for compensation for the work you're doing. I'm open to that. So tell me, Retrospecters, what is it that you're looking for? Money? Answers? None of the above? I'm all ears.

The scouting project seems to be working out okay. I don't know if any of you have found a place that's really good to relocate or recover but maybe we should talk about that, too.

…finally, bit of a morality question for you.

What's the priority here, you think? Working on chasing Vanderweele down this rabbit hole of a wild goose chase (wow that is too many animal analogies), or memory recovery of the company itself? Both of them are about as convoluted as you think, but not impossible.

Wait, not finally. One more thing since someone brought it up: in case you haven't noticed yet, you might want to pay attention to the things you've managed to bring back because, and I hate to make it sounds real drastic, but the fate of the world kinda depends on it? Just a little. Welcome to your destiny, everybody.

"Less ambiguity", this, belive it or not is a major improvement.

Although I'm told Zee might be more like one of us then Retrospec, he works for em(and presumably gets paid) so close enough.

Agree with you on our payday, hard to get butterbeer if the three broomsticks and the rest of the world goes boom.

I'm not sure whether I'm relieved or terrified that a common response I've been getting is, "This was WAY worse before!"

I'm not crazy about working for free, of course, but we can squabble over money after the big crisis is averted... though it sort of feels like an RPG, the shops are gonna keep selling stuff even when the meteor is hurtling toward the planet.

Maybe both?

One month they are saying "we got hacked" to "I meant to say, kinda, not REALLY hacked, that implies someone else was screwing with us"

Or my personal favourite "Manuel debugging required" >_<

At least the NPC's don't have the same annoying catchphrase every time you look in their inventory to buy stuff.

Both seem appropriate, that's for sure.

It feels like I'm starting to get a headache just from reading all that, I really don't know how you all managed.

No, they just buy back weapons for a third of what you paid, even if you accidentally bought one too many...

Mostly out of necessity, cryptic as hell, stuff happens then at the back of your head you go "Ooohhh, that's what they meant"

Kinda like when quests are vaguely worded and the quest marker actively screws with you because of course, it does.

Although...we did once get SUPER enhanced sense of smell when we had to pick up some ghost repellent flowers.

So, sometimes they actually help out.

Or when you have to go around and find the one person who triggers the quest, but your only hint is "they have blonde hair" and the whole town does. Ugh!

Being turned into a merperson did make things easier last time. I guess sometimes it's not quite as clear cut.

Oh, you guys got turned into merpeople?

That would have been nice, I just stuck to the trains since water sort of ruins my entire fire deal...although I should have went to try to see if I could evaporate said waters with my Ulti(I think? Don't know for sure if I have it, but got to try sometime right?)

It's worse when it's like "They are in the X part of the city" and it doesn't show up in the map...

I did! It's strange, but it felt really natural to me. But I've always have a bit of an affinity for water since I was little. I wonder if it has something to do with my past life?

Oh, I HATE those! I've played a few games where they botched the translation and that caused the confusion. It's almost enough to make me want to cheat and read the strat guides.

That could be! Although personally, I didn't really have a thing for fire until I got fire powers.

But who knows, maybe you have water powers and you are starting to feel your connection to it before being able to use it?

Just...don't do what I did and try to charge a flying castle in the sky when your not sure if you have powers yet or not...got shot by a cannon and MAN THAT HURT!

Is it a translation problem? I thought it was someone screwing up on the programming...cause sometimes its like "Do X" and you do X a dozen times and the quest still tells you to do it!

It could be both, I guess! The one I was thinking of sent me to the wrong side of the map, so I wasted a good couple of hours trying to find this one creature. I was SO mad.

And don't worry. I was raised to be pretty cautious so I won't do anything foolhardy.

Oh, no, I mean a literal cannon, it went boom and a metal ball went RIGHT at me and the girl that was making me fly with the ring she had on.

She held me for her magic to take the brunt of the shot, but both of us were still screaming PRETTY loud and it hurt like a bitch.

This same girl also air dropped to punch giant chain saws not 10 seconds later

Bonus points, I met her a few minutes before that went down.

[Every time Asami dares to think, Okay, maybe I'm starting to get the hang of how things go here, she hears stories like this and she wonders if staying back in L.A. wouldn't have been a wise choice.]

At least the magic was able to protect you both. Did you actually know the cannon was there, or did you think your powers would protect you...?

[Still, she can't resist being a little bit of a smartass, either.]

And now I know that rushing in to help complete strangers is something of a habit for you.

Well...yes... it was a gaint castle in the sky attacking the city so...it was a fair enough assumption.

I thought I could melt the cannons with fire because my Djinn talked to me.

Also I thought at the time I was probably hallucinating, and I wasn't ALWAYS rushing in to help people!

That day was my first time trying to do the good thing or whatever...I was honestly thinking "wait...my folks live here! If the castle destroys everything I'm going to be homeless again!"

Well, I certainly can't fault you for that reasoning. The people we care about the most are usually the best motivation for us to continue.

Your Djinn... is that the fire power you used when we first met? I was still so stunned by everything I don't think I asked nearly enough questions.

If that was the first time, then it appears the cannon didn't teach you any sort of lesson. I'm equal parts impressed and concerned.

The concerned part I get, but why impressed?

And yes, all my fire stuff comes from my Djinn(or genie) Amon, even transforming my blade or myself I depend on him...he doesn't talk other then the two times he introduced himself to me and called me master(Power swapped for a day when it was hot as hell in the city...and had to teach someone how to use my magic so they don't kill themselves, that was a little akward. I got his powers too for a day, I was happy when I got mine back.)

Even if it's foolish, it shows a lot of courage to rush into a situation like that and not know what you're facing. Still, I hope you'll show at least a little restraint from now on. No sense getting hurt if you don't have to!

True, could come in handy, I wish Amon talked more though, I don't want to find out that I've been abusing him, cause I know he is a person in there, he just, doesn't do anything other then magic when I command him.

Even so, that's no reason to rush in carelessly! If you have a plan of attack in place, you'll be much better equipped to react if things go poorly. If rushing in half-cocked with flames blazing doesn't work, you're gonna be in trouble.

Your right, your right I do need to work on being more stragetic in my approach, to use my powers as effectively as possible.

I thought it would be like...Disney's Alladin, having a genie around that could talk, maybe keep me level headed or just have a built in friend with me at all times...

which, I would have been more then happy to have Robin Willams or Will Smith, but...nothing, the Big old blue guy says nothing at all(I know because memory of him looking down and bascially being like "who the hell waltzed in here wanting to be king".)

And to avoid collateral damage, which is a real risk when you're flinging fire around.

Going off those movies, I'd say you might have to use one of your wishes to get him to talk, but I guess he's not that kind of genie.

And maybe you lucked out in a way. Wouldn't the constant musical numbers get old after a while?

Riding around on an elephant would be cool, but being a prince or princess would be so much work! Besides, I'm kinda partial to the Rapunzel story... though I guess both involve thieves in big roles.

I imagine you could delegate some of the work, even though I was a prince in my last life...I just remember practicing sword fighting a lot with the head general a lot. But I did see the king's desk once, and, freak it was a huge desk with lots of paper work.
