Been a while since I asked a vague personal question on the network! Probably because I lost network access for a while there, but still. I'm overdue. So, quick summary, past me was Bad and I do not want to be like him. He also was older than me at the end of his life, and he had kids. He was not a great dad. Not like an abusive parent or anything, and I think he loved them as much as he was capable, but that's not very much. What does it say that I'm thinking more lately about whether I want kids someday? Now that I have this example of 'me' messing it up?

Everything's okay. No giant eye, we can contact the outside world, everyone who used to be on the network remembers it.

I'm really glad. ...it's kind of funny, right? I wanted to come back home before that, but what really pushed me was having no one left. Now everyone remembers again.

It's not your fault. No one wanted to forget. I mean, except the people who actually legit asked to forget after the whole thing was over, but you know...

Forgetting after the fact is different from forgetting while the situation's still going and people need help.

Yeah. I feel like that, too, a lot of the time. Even though there were times I wanted to give up.

Everybody has those. I had a lot of those.

So, uh. How's your book doing? Now that there's an outside world again and all.

Shockingly, being able to access the rest of the world improves sales.

I kind of figured. I hope it's doing really well, after how hard you were working.

It's done well enough that I can shower my friends in gifts, which is the most important thing.

Hey, keep some for yourself. You still have to eat, right?

Sure, but I don't have to splurge on myself. And it makes me happy to spoil my loved ones.
