What's up, users! We've mostly fixed the technical problems we were having earlier (unless Danny missed something again) but you might want to wear green. Also, I'm supposed to make a vague and mysterious informational post here but that sounded boring so I made a video presentation instead!

Cheers!

As of this post all apples, oranges, lemons, and limes have been replaced in-universe as the silly dancing fruits shown above. This means that as with Chocobos all NPCs will insist this is how things have always been and history/movies/etc will back them up.

In honor of St. Patrick's Day characters will find a request from Retrospec to upload a picture of themselves to the network in which they are wearing something green. They will find themselves shocked lightly by their device if they try to use it without complying. Rude?

A non-triggered memory regain can be earned through participation in this post in honor of Lucy's birthday the holiday with proof of a single thread with at least five comments from your character. If you plan to redeem this, please submit it to our regains page with the explanation of "March freebie". This must be submitted before April to be valid! Regardless of whether or not a character earns the freebie, all characters will find a gold coin with the Retrospec logo on one side and a Chocobo on the other. On the outside edge of the coin they will find "Jim, put a meaningful quote here. - Janet" engraved in a beautiful font. The Chocobo will morph into a horse should your character obtain the memory regain from the event; it will stay a Chocobo if your character does not obtain the memory regain.

Please see our OOC information post HERE for some information and reminders - you can direct any questions about this post there!

Please feel free to use this post as a network mingle. Every toplevel can be considered a new post, and threadjacking is permitted. No NPC response will be given. Usernames are the character's full real AU names, not aliases or chosen nicknames or usernames, and seemed to have filled themselves in; nothing characters do can change or obscure their names currently.

Yet you laugh about it. All right. I suppose that's better than the rest of the complaining that I'm seeing...

something can be funny and distressing at the same time

I suppose that would be the best thing to do.

Everyone will acclimate in time, anyway. The shock value will wear off soon enough I'm sure.

hmm i'm way more curious about what'll happen after the shock's gone. are we all just gonna get used to it and oh well! that's just how the world is now, nothing to do about it.

seems kinda lame if that's what'll happen, huh?

Well, what could be done about it? I'm not particularly interested in finding a solution to a problem that isn't really a problem. The fruit is still edible, and a large number of people haven't seemed to notice the difference...

Although they'll start complaining again if anything else changes.

hell if i know. but hey, yeah, so far it's not a huge PROBLEM, no. but that's just so far. what if next time it's something even bigger?

you know, something that does have an actual impact

Then there will be more screaming online and very little will done until the next thing. This is how people are. To actually do or change something is far too much effort or even more of an inconvenience. It's far more easy and cathartic to complain about it instead.

isn't that kinda what you're doing too
godcards: (01.)

[personal profile] godcards 2017-03-26 01:05 am (UTC)(link)
No. I'm simply pointing out what'll happen.

The fruit doesn't bother me, either.

[ shut up malik you are absolutely doing it too. ]

[personal profile] curseoclock 2017-03-26 01:06 am (UTC)(link)
oh right. you're just complaining about people instead.

[personal profile] godcards 2017-03-26 01:06 am (UTC)(link)
It is. I don't see what you're getting at.

that's a pretty solid policy with most people online, really

[personal profile] godcards 2017-03-27 02:04 am (UTC)(link)
Offline too, for the record.

[personal profile] curseoclock 2017-03-27 02:05 am (UTC)(link)
you're real friendly aren't you?
godcards: (01.)

[personal profile] godcards 2017-03-27 02:09 am (UTC)(link)
What? Why would anyone be implicitly more trustworthy offline than online?
curseoclock: (009)

[personal profile] curseoclock 2017-03-27 02:10 am (UTC)(link)
i dunno, face to face is just different

people lie more online lol
godcards: (05.)

[personal profile] godcards 2017-03-27 02:11 am (UTC)(link)
Face to face is not different. People still lie.

Online you can just hide that you're bad at it.
