What's up, users! We've mostly fixed the technical problems we were having earlier (unless Danny missed something again) but you might want to wear green. Also, I'm supposed to make a vague and mysterious informational post here but that sounded boring so I made a video presentation instead!

Cheers!

Retrspec Incorporated

As of this post all apples, oranges, lemons, and limes have been replaced in-universe as the silly dancing fruits shown above. This means that as with Chocobos all NPCs will insist this is how things have always been and history/movies/etc will back them up.

In honor of St. Patrick's Day characters will find a request from Retrospec to upload a picture of themselves to the network in which they are wearing something green. They will find themselves shocked lightly by their device if they try to use it without complying. Rude?

A non-triggered memory regain can be earned through participation in this post in honor of Lucy's birthday the holiday with proof of a single thread with at least five comments from your character. If you plan to redeem this, please submit it to our regains page with the explanation of "March freebie". This must be submitted before April to be valid! Regardless of whether or not a character earns the freebie, all characters will find a gold coin with the Retrospec logo on one side and a Chocobo on the other. On the outside edge of the coin they will find "Jim, put a meaningful quote here. - Janet" engraved in a beautiful font. The Chocobo will morph into a horse should your character obtain the memory regain from the event; it will stay a Chocobo if your character does not obtain the memory regain.

Please see our OOC information post HERE for some information and reminders - you can direct any questions about this post there!

Please feel free to use this post as a network mingle. Every toplevel can be considered a new post, and threadjacking is permitted. No NPC response will be given. Usernames are the character's full real AU names, not aliases or chosen nicknames or usernames, and seemed to have filled themselves in; nothing characters do can change or obscure their names currently.
wiselys: (LOOK ► but why)

No. I'm only two weeks ahead, gosh. All right. I'm sure mom will understand.
I'm tempted to go by the Retrospec building and throw it at it, but fine.
Who knew that chocobos weren't the end of the sense-making scale, but instead the middle of it. God.
Waiting for the bus. Picking me up might be quicker.
chiseler: (it was really only you)

[personal profile] chiseler 2017-03-18 05:44 am (UTC)(link)
"only." mom...will buy any excuse I give her, I'll think of something
we could probably throw it at that security board if it's still there. kind of sounds like a party to me
what're the chances of it stopping at this though? any bets?
bus by mom and dads or closer to the school? I'm heading for my car rn

We're now allergic to four very specific fruit?
Hmm. That does sound fun.
I don't even know. I couldn't imagine anything more stupid than chocobos, now I can't imagine anything stupider than these fruit.
Closer to the school.
chiseler: (when the traffic's stuck)

[personal profile] chiseler 2017-03-18 07:13 am (UTC)(link)
that's only four out of idk hundreds. isn't there some study about allergies developing later in life?
we could get a bunch of these stupid things + the graces and go nuts. could be a good saturday night or something
the chocobos weren't even that stupid they were just WEIRD and BIG and they molted everywhere
stay there, I'll be by soon and in the meantime we can try to think of something stupider than bird fruit

[personal profile] wiselys 2017-03-18 07:45 am (UTC)(link)
If there isn't, I'm sure I can bullshit one just for our use.
That sounds like a great way to spend a Saturday night. Consider me down.
They weren't stupid until I remembered horses. Why are they big chickens? Why? Has anyone checked on giraffes and zebras?
Jason suggested gingerbread houses.

works for me, mom will believe you if you generate facts and make it seem like they came from a book and not the internet
let me ask the graces tonight and we'll go from there
are you trying to tell me we need to take a trip to the zoo because that can probably be arranged. are giraffes even part of the horse family?
I. why would gingerbread houses be stupider than smiling fruit?

As stated in George Kolby's Studies of Allergies, chapter 12: it is not entirely uncommon for older adolescents or young adults (as referenced in Oxford's Scientific Journal, May 1996) to develop late stage allergic reactions to things that they have been around all their lives. Actually, I'm pretty sure late-stage allergies are an actual thing? Maybe I should google before making things up.
All right.
I don't know. Let me check.

[ a minute later ]

They aren't. Now we know.
So you'd be fine if you woke up and your apartment walls were made of gingerbread inside and out?
chiseler: (ain't it strange?)

[personal profile] chiseler 2017-03-20 05:06 pm (UTC)(link)
see, that's perfect because I can't actually tell if you made that up or googled it and found someone else's research. I'd buy it, let's go with that anyway
I never thought I would need to know, but good to know. I prefer my giraffes to be giraffes and not twelve-feet-tall birds
and of course I'd be fine with that. I wouldn't go hungry for a few months

[personal profile] wiselys 2017-03-21 04:58 am (UTC)(link)
That seems cruel, but all right.
There's a joke about big bird somewhere in there.
Luke, don't eat your apartment. No way that's sanitary. Or healthy.
chiseler: (no one really knew it was really only u)

[personal profile] chiseler 2017-03-21 05:52 pm (UTC)(link)
how's that cruel? it sounds true and it probably is...somewhere
leave my childhood alone omg, I don't need that kind of trauma
if it was gingerbread wouldn't that automatically make it more sanitary? and I own a bar, I think "healthy" kinda went out the window months ago
wiselys: (025)

[personal profile] wiselys 2017-03-22 05:48 am (UTC)(link)
Just in the sense that it's a lie. To our own mother. Not that we can tell her the truth, obviously. But it'd be nice if it contained grains of truth.
Sorry Lukeberry, your childhood was a lie. Big bird is a horse.
Why would it be more sanitary? Do I have to start bringing you real food so you don't die?
chiseler: (no one really knew it was really only u)

[personal profile] chiseler 2017-03-22 03:56 pm (UTC)(link)
if you're that worried about lying to mom then I guess I'll do it. it's not a lie if it's protecting her from the weird stuff that's going on, right? think of it that way. we're doing this for the better
I swear to god. if that's true then I have even more questions about his elephant best friend
I know how to get real food. I'm technically an adult but I'm JUST saying. at least I would know what's been on my walls and stuff
wiselys: (ss 88)

[personal profile] wiselys 2017-03-23 07:50 am (UTC)(link)
She'd believe either of us. It's still a lie, but it's not a malicious one.
Wow, you're an adult?? I never noticed.
Do you really know what's been on your walls? They'd be covered in dust and whatever other particles come in from outside, and it'd probably be stale. Regular gingerbread houses aren't even usually that edible.
chiseler: (only in the worst way)

[personal profile] chiseler 2017-03-23 04:46 pm (UTC)(link)
you say that like I'd ever tell a really malicious lie anyway when it wasn't deserved
ugh shut up
all right, all right, bill nye. I'm not going to lick my walls to find out and I'm surprised you even know that seeing how you spend way too long building gingerbread houses to try eating them
wiselys: (ss 89)

[personal profile] wiselys 2017-03-24 09:19 am (UTC)(link)
No, not that. I know you wouldn't.
:)
Great, now I have that tune in my head. I've seen other people try to eat them. And I know more accurately what they're made of.
chiseler: (ain't it beautiful? so unusual)

[personal profile] chiseler 2017-03-24 05:01 pm (UTC)(link)
then my work here is done!
you know what they're made of because you're a huge nerd bananabeth, we already knew that. do I want to know what they're actually made of?
wiselys: (ss 89)

[personal profile] wiselys 2017-03-29 03:14 am (UTC)(link)
What work?
I'm not a nerd, I'm well-informed. Even assuming it is all food-based products, they would become stale very quickly.
chiseler: (I'm sick of listening)

[personal profile] chiseler 2017-03-31 05:24 pm (UTC)(link)
the only work I ever care about and that's getting inside people's heads
that's the same thing. let's just be glad my apartment isn't made of stale food in any case
wiselys: (DUMB ► that sounds)

[personal profile] wiselys 2017-04-01 03:50 am (UTC)(link)
Have you ever managed it?
I am glad for that. That would gross.
chiseler: (life's a gas and it's running out)

[personal profile] chiseler 2017-04-02 07:42 am (UTC)(link)
people still think about me, don't they?
my apartment already has enough issues to be fair. it's only half-gross right now
anyway on my way, see you in a sec
